Help a idiot Please

Hi all im new to the site so please be gentle, I recently bought a wasabi dx and installed it, the problem is this is my first attempt and i messed it up big time! I put the drive ribbon into the console slot and visa versa ( I know im a total idiot!! and yes it states clearly which one i should of put it in :( ). I turned it on and it says error, so i reopend it and saw my mastake doh! i reinstalled it properly but now every time i put a disc in, it goes to the menu i can click on the drive and it say "insert a disc" but the disc is in there! i push the eject button but nothing happens! ( I tried clicking it 3 times holding it down 10 secs everything) so i had to take it apart to get the disc out by rolling the roller, got it back to its orrignal state turned it back on the drive makes the start up sound but if i put a disc back in i cant get my disc back and i have to go throw this all again. My question is have i permantly messed up my drive or is it fixable ? PLEASE HELP.. p.s i also cant get into the wasabi menu at the begining i push the eject button 3 times quickly and nothing! i know the button works because if i push it at the begging it starts up my wii? any help please

to set the wasbi-DX chip, u need to do it without a game disc inserted.
while the eject and read functions are properly reacting, u may like to check the white connector connecting the dvd-rom board and the Wii motherboard. force fit the connector to ensure good connectivity.
i guess u've connection problem and not a fatal error with the console. be easy.

Hi Billyhome thanks for the reply, I did try to get into the menu via the eject button with no disc in? its strange because it looks like its out of its sequence maybe?? It takes the disc but doesnt know its in there i think ive messed the firmware up im hopeing i dont need to buy a new drive?
