Wasabi DX, problems with NSMB

Hello. I bought an European Wii almost 2 years ago. Then, I installed a Wasabi DX chip, and I've been able to play PAL backups perfectly, until I tried with New Super Mario Bros.

My Wii version is 3.4E (I upgraded it once, almost by mistake last year, but never again), and when I got this problem with NSMB, upgraded my Wasabi DX to v3.0 (a few days ago). After having patched the untouched NSMB ISO with BCA fix (downloaded from Wasabi's official webpage), I tried it on my Wii, and it says I need to upgrade it.

What should I do? Should I upgrade my Wii again? I've heard it may be risky or unnecesary.

I've been reading some threads, but I see that this info is not really up-to-date, or that people always end up recommending softmodding (I see it might have some advantages, but I still want to read much more before doing it; I'm kind of sceptical about it).

Is there any solution just using my Wasabi chip? I mean, upgrading, or patching the ISO, instead of installing additional software on my Wii... I'd like to make as few software mods as possible, at least for now.

the game is on that Problematic Games & solution list
in the nsmb guide is the description to scrub the game iso, that will remove the update partition.

to check which ios the game runs on you can look here, but getting the missing ios is only possible with softmodding.

So the only solution is softmodding? I'm starting to think that I spent money unnecesarily in that chip :(.

I'll see what I can do, there's much more to read than what I had thought :P.

the first nsmb guide has the scrubbing description in its middle, patching section or something. think that should work then already.

my wii is chipped too.. did it 2 years ago, and it is unused since may this year when i found this site.
softmodding really opens everything up in your wii.. have a look at wiiflow on youtube, check wiimc the mediaplayer for. avi and .mp3 playing from usb drive or over wifi network through a shared folder on your pc. browse youtube, hear internet radio, etc etc.

when you decide to mod, use the softmod any wii guide linked below, will set you up with all you need for the above mentioned.
