Wasabi DX not running backup games

Hi there, I recently purchased the Wasabi DX modchip and I've just installed it in my wii. however im having trouble playing backup games. Normal games work fine, but anytime theres a backup disk, it says 'An error has occurred, press eject and remove the disc, and turn off the wii console. Refer to wii operations manual" or something like that. I've taken it apart again and I'm sure its installed correctly with the right cabling and PAL settings. My wii is quite new and has Firmware 4.2E. When i turn on the wii, the wasabi dx is red, then when i put a disc inside it turns green, which shows that its definitely on. So what could be causing the problem?

    Cheers

Are you sure your "quite new" wii does not have a d3-2 drive? Have you been able to use the setup disk? If the setup disk loads, then your drive can read dvds. If it is not your drive it must be your disks, your burning methods, or your iso file.

Well, I am going to guess that you have one of those d3-2 drives- sorry. But if you want to play those backup, you can do it in about 30 min. Just read the 4.2 guide linked below. If you have that drive, you can still load from usb.

Sorry to intrude on your topic, but I'd like to know how to create this update disc because my Wasabi DX needs to be updated to 3.0 in order for me to play NTSC/PAL games on my Japanese Wii (which has firmware version 3.1J). Thanks in advance.

hey mate, you've gotta go to the official wasabi site, go to the Downloads and get the wasabi dx 3.0.rar file. then just unzip it, write the iso onto your dvd, put it in your wii and follow the instructions. ur so lucky u have an earlier wii...

I immediately downgraded my DVD mainboard after getting a new D3-2 WII. worked fine when i tested it. Installed Mr DX and my first two backups worked fine (some hunting game and m' kart). Now tyring to figure out how to make my other backups work without getting the 002 error -- i'm interested in avoiding any softmodding tho if possible and have not found anything yet. Written to the wasabi guys just to ask if an update is in the pipeline. If anyone has a suggestion it'd be gladly received.
