Guitar Hero 5, Beatles Rockband and Wasabi DX system update....

    Hi,

I have a PAL Wii with a wasabi DX which is fully up to date (v.3)

The Wii itself has a firmware 4.1e. With No softmods at all. No homebrew and I have no Idea what an IOS is.

However, when I load up guitar hero 5 or Rock Band: Beatles, It tells me I need to update again.

Apparently I've heard that the update ruins all your homebrew. But I don't have any homebrew or soft mods at all.

I also know that brickblocking the .iso file prior to burning it just makes the game go to black screen. (tested: yes, it fails with a blue screen)

What should I do to ensure I don't ruin my wii and make it usless for playing all my other PAL and NTSC backups?

All without the need to install any softmods (including any of the ios files I seem to read about so much) at all onto the wii?

Thanks in advance, - If anyone can help me get this working in the next few days I'll give £20 to the charity of your choice! (with proof!)

Just do the update, this will install new ios files not a system update. Depending how your Wasabidx is set up you may have to go into the Wasabidx setup to enable update.

Yep, in order to play games that support extra equipment like a guitar you sometimes need to perform an update from the game disc the first time. As stated above, this is not a system update to 4.2.

Just make sure to use a game from the same region as your Wii, i.e. in your case the PAL version of the game.

Yes, just to confirm, everything works fine. - No concerns about bricking...
