Got the WasabiDX installed and every game I have tried has worked, because of my Wii being on v4.2E firmware I have to use PAL games unscrubbed and they work. Even New Super Mario Bros works after updating the WasabiDX to v3.0 firmware and using the BCA fix on their website.

    Fayraz,

I believe you should still be able to use scrubbed isos, (except those with BCA protection), but only versions from your native region.

Give a scrubbed iso a shot and see how it goes.

Yup, Fayraz said it. Everything works great. I too haven't tried scrubbed games yet, but soon gonna do it. Got some compressed iso games - hope everything will go well so i can save a lot bandwidth.

btw Happy New year to all!!!

thanks very much fayraz. Is this currently the best modchip for the wii and are there any disadvantages, such as some games not playing?

Lastly, does this have a switch to disable it when we want to go online?

I don't know if this is the best chip to go for but since installing mine I have downloaded at least 15 PAL games and all have worked even New Super Mario Bros.

I am not sure about playing online I have not tried it so I am not sure whether it is safe to do so and I don't think it has a switch to disable it, maybe someone else can answer the online question?

Thanks very much fayraz. Is it difficult to install the chip yourself?

I hope someone can answer the question regarding using the wii via net as i was told that the whole point of using a modchip is so that it bypassing the wii system or something and should allow you to safely use the net...can someone pls confirm?

Installing the chip was very simple the hardest thing you will probably find is removing the Wii cover but once you have a look at a few YouTube videos you will know what to do.
