i bought the chip thinking it would work with any consoles. And you said wait for a wode/sundriver, what is that?
Correct, if its d3-2 your SOL on the wasabi dx.

Wode and Sundriver are new generation chips that allow play from external/internal hard drives. Since they both emulate dvd drives on hdd it doesnt matter how old your wii is with them.

    Hope this helps

Feel free to pm me if you need anymore help.

The Sundriver requires you to purchase an internal 2.5 sata drive to replace your wii's dvd drive.

Check here: D2SUN universal 6 wires modchip for ALL Nintendo WII!

the Wode uses an external hard drive and rips content from your burnt discs to this drive.

Check here: WODE Wii Optical Drive Emulator, Modchip WII with USB - Flat Mode - Drivekey like - Wiikey Fusion Like - Flat Mii killer - Flatzii killer

if i go into anymore details i would probably end up advertising which would get me kicked off of here so im just gonna leave it at that :P

Actually theres no hard drive with that package, you have to buy your own. You can usually get a good 320 gig hdd for around $50 on sale though.

    Official package includes:
1 x Sundriver housed in Wii DVD case
1 x power adapter to connect 2.5" SATA HDD
1 x USB cable to transfer content to HDD from PC
1 x Free Triwing Screwdriver (One per order)
1 x Free Phillips Screwdriver (One per order)
