Withnail, I have had no problems. I have followed this guide - http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html . Installed HBC, backed up my nand, installed the new CIOS. I didn't update my system menu since I have Menu 4.1U. I also didn't follow step 5B & 5C.

If you have system menu 4.2 - you can use this tutorial - http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html.

If you just wanted HBC, you can install that alone and no have any of the other steps in the tutorial. To get Neogammer to work, you need to install the Cios items (follow the rest of the tutorial).

After I got done I tried out neogammer, loading SD games (the only way I can get NSMB to work), and also disks. I also can still load my original backups through the disk channel (normal way).

I do have a Wasabi DX running in parallel mode (cable in, cable out), using firmware running 2.0 beta. Every game I have so far has worked with the DX copied in the disk channel, EXCEPT NEW SUPER MARIO BROTHERS. The only way I got it to work was using a SD card and using the SD card tutorial here - http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-games/28...ario-bros.html, and using a new boot.dol stitch using wiiscrubber 1.4 (also explained on the first post).

I have made 6 disks so far trying to get it to work with the Wasabi DX, and no luck. Ben3 (also in the Wasabi DX forum) got it work using neogamma with disk (mine works with SD card in neogamma). Nobody so far I can tell can get it to work directly using disk channel and a burnt DVD.
I hope they update their firmware sometime soon.

If I didn't have a wasabi, I wouldn't buy one. I would software mod only. At first I was scared, and that is why I spent $42 on a Wasabi, now I have a useless chip.
