I have wasabi dx 1.2 firmware and my wii is 4.0 firmware. I have read that updateing my wii to the lastest firmwire will stop me from playing games from other areas so i dont want to do that ,and i dont want to softmod my wi,i is there a way to get this game up and running ?? Please help the other half and the kids are going mad for this game.

    Hi
I have the same modchip and same problem. What i tried is the USA version. I burned the iso 1:1 without any patching. When i try to load the game from the channel it tries to read the disc and brings me back to the system menu. I tried the patched iso too - when i put the disc in, it doesn't even show in channels - it goes straight to a black screen with the error message. I tried putting the HBC without changing any system files, just the HBC and neogamma r8 beta 12. When i load the game through neogamma it shows a green screen and takes me back to system menu. BTW - i installed the updates that come with the game - it updates the system menu to 4.1u. I don't see any side effects - i still can play backup discs of any region.
A friend of mine told me that he made it running by installing the updates from an ORIGINAL copy of NSMB and then he was able to play the backup disc without any problems. My original copy is coming this week and i will try that too
As for now i hope the modchip producers will come up with an update to their firmwares - that is if they want to stay in business

Withnail, read the first post on the link, no-one yet has been able to play the disk untouched with a hard mod or not.

Well with multiple tries, patches to the game, I cannot load a copy of the game. The only way to get the DX to work is to avoid it directly, do softmod, and boot to the SD card. Sad that this $46 chip I purchased 2 weeks ago I don't even need now.

Good news is that the DX chip still works, so my backups are unchanged.

Along with the 4.2 region mod that Wasabi needs to handle, they can add direct disk load for New super Mario Bros.

I have the wasabi dx, it does not play the game for me. Works well from usb. I think for now if you want to play it you need a softmod, or you need to buy it. I imagine in the future a new firmware will fix this.

I patched the iso w/ image different and work like a charm played it for 1 hr no problem.
I also have a wasabi dx w/ zero clip.
    steps
download (softmod disc loading rar) from(http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-games/28...ario-bros.html)
extract rar from winrar or 7 zip
your'll see imgdiff rar extract it run (imgdiff gui )
click remote scan browse for your iso and select output of the remote file(5min)
click imgdiff browse for iso, select the remote file and select output of imgdif(5-10min)
click patch browse for imgdif, browse for iso and output.(10 min-20min)
rename the output imgdif file to (whatever.iso ) the file will be an iso now
    burn imgburn 4x
    enjoy

    Ben3,
Thanks for the suggestions but no luck. Took my good ISO, downloaded softmod disk loading rar, unrared both into a directory, ran imagediffgui.exe, clicked on tab remote scan, in the foreign image dialog box, selected my original ISO, in output folder, selected same target folder, everything went well, OK, then selected remote diff tab, in remote diff dialog box, selected the diff I just made, (.iso.remoteDIFF), in Original, selected the original ISO, and in output folder, made a new subfolder. everything OK, no errors.
Then I selected the patch image tab, in the patch dialog box, just selected the new imageDiff I made in the new subfolder, Foreign image, selected the ISO, and new image I selected the same folder and typed in whatever.iso (I like your suggestion). Took about 20 minutes, burned on verbatim DVD-R that I have had very good luck with before, 2X speed, put into my Wii, selected it, about a 3 second pause and then back to the main screen. I then tried to load with Neogamma, and green box and then no luck.
May of worked for you guys, but not me. I also tried to stitch in the new posted main.dol using Wiiscrubber1.4 (like what I did with the SD image), then ran the imagediff again, and no luck. I am done making coasters, I have burnt 6 disks already trying to get this program to work, I guess I am just lucky to have it working on SD.
