Unfortunately I'm (like one of other users in this thread) not using any soft-mods, as my Wii is still on warranty. If anything bad happens to my Wii - I can easilly take out Wasabi and return it to repair center. But I may not be able to uninstall the softmod if the Wii is broken. So the StartPatch is not the solution for at least one more year... Have to wait for Wasabi guys to fix it...

And as for not updating to 4.2 because you dont want your wasabi to go down, thats all good untill you run a new game the requires the update, which Im sure they all will soon! So you will be stuck with a wii that can only load old games (unless you go down the homebrew way..)
If you are able to install Preloader V0.3, you be able to bypass the "Wii System Update" process when loading new games with old Wii firmware. It works for me when I tried play NSMB with an old 3.2U firmware. Just enable "Skip Disc Updating" in Preloader V0,3 and voila!!! NSMB loads normally in the System Menu channel.
