Question A WasabiDX question B4 I buy

Hello, I'm planing on purchasing a WasabiDX in a few days, but before that i have few questions.

Dose any kind of update affect the WasabiDX? My kid brother put the latest update on my Wii, would it affect the WasbiDX in playing any games?

Also, whats the difference between the WasabiDX and the WasabiDX *AUTO BOOTING*? They both direct boot, right?

Ok thank you. I have a few more questions before I buy. The modchip depot has a Wasabi Dx with Optional Clip Bundle for 56$. It has the DX and the ZERO. Is it worth buying? Or should I just stick with the DX? Can I still play good quality GC back up games with just the DX?

the optional clip can only be used on some wii's. i personnally only have the regular dx and it does everything i need it too and more. Auto booting is also in the dx menu, so if you want to turn it on you can.

So you DONT need the autobooting one or the clip to have a great chip.

that is a good deal to get the dx bundled with the clip. the dx is a good chip but if its possible to use the clip by all means one should. check to see what chipset ur wii has here: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]
then u can check to see if it would be compatible for using the dx as a zero. theres no sense paying for the clip if you cant use it.

Well I decided to buy the Wasabi Dx with Optional Clip Bundle. It should arrive in a few days. I have two questions though.

1st. Is there any tutorial video on how to clip the Wasabi Dx with Optional Clip Bundle on a Wii?

2nd. Do i need to apply electrical tape on Wasabi Dx with Optional Clip Bundle?

for videos, go to youtube and look up wasabi dx and wasabi zero installations and find the ones from canadamods, they are good ones. also look up canadamods wii disassembly video too.

the first thing u will need to do is install it as a dx so u can update the dx firmware to the newest 2.0beta. after u do that then u can install it as a zero w/clip. after its installed as zero u will need the zero configuration disc 1.4beta in order to access the settings menu for it.

as for the electric tape. i put a layer of tape covering the backside of the chip and left a 1/8 inch overhang around the edges to insulate the contact between the modchip and the wii drive board. i also put 1 strip of tape across the top side of modchip to make sure its held in place and help with it not popping off because its just pressed on the chipset. then i put a layer of tape on the metal thats adjacent in order to insulate any contact that might occur on the topside(make sure to leave the small hole uncovered as this is for ventilation). this method i came up with works really well. i have transported my wii numerous times and it has never come loose. whenever u press the chip on the chipset make sure u apply even steady pressure. when its on there securely there should be an even 1mm gap between the chip and the board the entire way around. if its not pressed on properly whenever u go to screw the drive back on chances are it will pop off. it took me 2 attempts with it popping off before i made sure i pressed it on there nice and tight. refer to the pictures i took during my install process, [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Wow thanks, I will definitely keep all of that in mind. So dose this mean that I will basically be using the the Wasabi Zero as the main chip? What separates this from just using the Zero alone?
