once u flash ur firmware to 2.0 in dx mode you then unhook the dx, pop the clip on it and then it presses down onto ur chipset. no need for the ribbon cable.

u need to go to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] download the 2.0beta iso, burn it to disc then pop it in your wii. i think it shows up as a gamecube icon in ur disc channel, start it up and enjoy.

i agree, i love my dx/zero. it handles everything i throw at it. i also have a drivekey, which is collecting dust because the wasabi blows it away.

What if I have a GC2-D1? I am a noob to this entire scene. bought a used Wii console with no games, and ordered a Wasabi DX. Can I/should I run it as a zero or just leave it as a DX? I got the 1.2 update in, and burned a few coaster on DVD+R until I bought some DVD-R - worked on the 1st 2 so far.

i never heard of a D1 chipset so i dont know if u can use it as a zero. u would want to put the latest firmware on it. which is 2.0beta.

OK. I will update to the 2.0Beta. The chipset D1 really exists. Just not much info on it I guess.

Ok, so you are using it as a Wasabi Zero instead... Has anyone with a "normal" Wasabi DX installation (installed as a ribbon chip, and not with a clip) tried to run Ghostbusters?

Ghostbusters (USA) does not work on my PAL Wii 4.1e with a DriveKey chip installed

Also, how does the Wasabi DX (installed as a ribbon chip) perform when you throw out-of-region games at it? (E.g. European PAL games on an American NTSC Wii or vice versa). There are problems playing certain out-of-region games with DriveKey, but I suspect this is not related to DriveKey as such, but rather limitations of the Wii (or more specifically the Wii drive).
