Question A couple of questions

Hello,
I'm thinking of buying a WasabiDX chip soon
but i got two questions ..

1- Can anyone tell me how to properly put the electrical tape over the chip ?
i mean is there a specific way to do that ??

2-

whats the deference between 3x and 6x read speed ?

thanks in advance

Just make sure a good sqaure is covering the WHOLE chip.I would use double sided pads to stick the chip down, then you have less pressure on the tape.3x SPEED reads the disc slower but you would be hard pushed to notice it..

the double sided tape is not necessarry.. The point of the E Tape is simply to ensure that there will be no electrical contact made when there shouldnt be.. & Adding anything else to the thickness such as double sided tape would just make it more likely that a sharp little solder point may puncture the E Tape.. & Without it there is no rattleing around or anything when its reassembled..

no it means you need the etape, but not the foam tape to hold it in place.. There aint a whole lot of room where it sits & the foam tape will only add to unwanted thickness.. The E-Tape is simply there to add a non conductive layer incase anything shifts or what not..
