Hi there, i am posting on here today to maybe help someone who is maybe thinkg of installing one of these chips.
I have just finshed my install and every thing has gone well.I watched two good vids of youtube, the first was posted by canada mods on how to take the wii apart & the secound was a vid by drive key peeps on how to stick the chip down with double sided pads to help keep the chip in place.I can post links if needed.
I have checked 5 backups so far and all have worked first time with no problems. The media i have used is ridisc extreme (which i thought would be ok as i used them for my xbox).
I burnt useing nero 8, on 4X and imgburn 1X and X 4 just to see if any problems with speed. The dvd-rw i used was a pioneer 112d to burn the backup's.Like i said all work great.I did however run into a problem when i put in mario kart original in that it did not work, but this was solved easy by upgrading the firmware on my wasabi dx chip with the 1.2 iso.
I also have the 4.0 firmware on the wii and this does not seem to be a problem at all.
Like i said i just posted on here maybe to help someone, this site started me on the idea of modding my wii so im just putting somthing back so to speak
sorry about my bad grammer.

Good post, I appreciate that you replied with your good experience. I think too many people don't reply if they had good luck, so all you see are the few people that have problems on these types of boards.
Also, one more thing if i am aloud to say i live in the uk and i got my chip from the hanger shop, i ordered friday it came the sat and take's pay pal so there a shop that you can trust. Just thought id say, im not saying there the best or any thing,it was just important for me to find a safe online shop to get the chip.
When I Did mine I Didn't have any double sided tape handy So I just slapped a couple quick pieces of E Tape over it & had no problems.. Also I Wouldn't take it as it doesn't rattle around anyway & if I need to remove the chip to send back to N* then that is that much more work I have to do to keep the appearance of stock..

yes , thanks for a positive post..as it was said above...alot of people only post when they have problems....unlike yourself...
Just a little update on my post , i have been checking a few backups to see how load times are with the 3x read speed of the wasabi dx. I must say that over all they are good maybe a secound or two slower, but i think you have got to be really picky to moan about ..
House of the dead does suffer with a little pause in between loading, but im not sure if the game brought is like that. Also all game intro's have been smooth with no slow down.

load times will be a bit longer, and some video can get lagged, but most do not notice it, and majority of games do not do it. Really a solution this simple you cant complain
Just make sure you use good media, and burn the games nice and slow for best results regardless of modchip type.
