my opinion: i bought dx just because i needed to minimize effects of modding as the console was a gift to a girl just 6 months ago, so warranty was a priority.
i am sure i were regret choosing dx if the console would be mine and because of the 3x speed limitation i wouldn't recommend dx over zero to anybody except to ppl with the same needs as above. slow speed is apparent, all games and loading times are optimized to 6x speed at developing.

note: with dx firmware 2.0 dx can be used as a zero with a clip.

Have you tried setting your layerbreak to 2084960 in img burn?

Hiya, I used cdburnerxp to burn the image on a Fujifilm DVD+R dual layer. Cdburnerxp does the layer break automatically. I just selected burn image, and then the file. It did take over 40 minutes to burn though at 2.4 X speed. The image was 8.3 GB and NTSC. The opening movie is quite awesome. I didn't notice any slow down in the intro either, and I was anticipating I would. I thought the game didn't work until I realized you have to turn the remote sideways.

I cannot get SSBB or SMG to work I have tried NTSC-U and PAL. I have a 4.00J and Wasabi DX 1.2.

Boom Blox is also not working. I have tried NTSC-U and PAL.

One thing that I have noticed is that both SMG and Boom Bloox show their title in Japanese on the System Menu regardless of PAL or NTSC-U...

    Any solutions?

I have not tried Layer breaking for SSBB...
