Just installed wasabi dx and it appears to be doing the job. I have currently been burning @ 1x incremental via imgburn with AZUL dvd -r 16x disks. I have been having intermittent disk read errors, which is correctable by ejecting and replacing the disk. Switching to incremental burn decreased the read errors considerably. I have a 100 pack of verbatim dvd -r 16x disks on the way and am hoping those will eliminate those problems. Some more experimentation with burning perhaps.

It seams to me that the wii's error timeout is two short, anyway to tweak the value to increase read attempts?

    So fare I have tested

    SSBB on dvd5
SMG - had the well documented sound stutter, video was fine during opening movie.
    mario kart
    sonic and the secret rings
    lego star wars saga
zelda tp (used tp hack for hbc)
    mario party 8
    sonic unleashed
    family party 30 games
    wii cruisn - PAL
    super mario sluggers

all have worked well with the exception of occasional read errors, usually during heavy loads. This seems minimal following initial load and creation of save file.

Also have installed dvdx (3.4 installer) and mpeg2, mpeg4, divx, xvid- and probably any other format play via mplayer ce thru dvd drive just fine.

I have the d2nothing or something like it chip so the 4th gen was the only route for me. Running LU65-6882 3.4u. Very happy camper, just need to refine my burns.

try increasing your burn speed to 4 in imgburn

try increasing your burn speed to 4...may work much better
as it seems the discs do not work very well at the slowest or highest speeds

sony dvd-r's i found to be an excellent media. and imgburn is a well made burning utensil, its free and a compact program. it isnt such a big resource hog like alcohol or other big media software. i have been using imgburn for years and will use nothing else.

Alcohol doesn't tax my system in a noticable amount at all.. I Find it to be very lite & if it taxes yours then you probably have resource issues anyway..

Than again I also have a quad core & 8gb of ram so in all honesty the only things that do tax my system are Hard Drive intensive since I haven't made the leap to SDD yet..

Have you guys had any experience with WiiKey v2? I'm sure I have 3.4 system menu and I'm still trying to figure out if I should do a hardmod or softmod. Also, the website to check the serial # is down so I can't determine what chipset I have.

I'm not big on soldering -- is there a solderless wasabi available?

    Thx
