Have you tried using the eject button WITHOUT the faceplate? Perhaps it's as simple as your eject switch not reaching the button .. or a problem with the eject button hardware.

The drive .. while containing the Drive Chip .. where your mod-chip will go .. is independant from the rest of the system. The eject hardware is on the main board .. below the drive itself.
Yes, I have tried using the eject button without the faceplate.
But with the new drive I do not have exactly the same problem.
The Wii isn't just stable. But I don't know the details cause it's not my Wii
and I don't have it anymore.
    But thanks for the advice.

D2E drive, Wasabi, Wi Clip V5b

Same problem. Work around is unplug wii, wait few minutes, plug in while pressing eject button rapidly. Sometimes If a disk is stuck in i gently prod another disk in while doing all of the above. Big pain.

I've read I might need to solder a wire from the clip to the motherboard but not sure where.

Old post but anybody still out there figure this out. I think I may have bought this from Canada Mods but I didn't install it for so long and the VISA bill says "
DRI services" or something like that.

Anyway I'm going to put all my games on a USB hard drive and stop using the disk!
