WASABI with V5 Clip on D2C, green light but unresponsive drive, please help!

So i just received my wasabi chip presoldered onto the V5 wii clip.

    WII-CLIP for WIIKEY,D2CKEY,D2CPRO,ARGON,D2PRO ......

I have followed the instructions but still no luck. I soldered the F points. I get a red light for a second when I first power on the wii and then a solid green light on the wasabi but I get nothing at all from the dvd drive. Doesnt spin and I cant eject the disk.

If I remove the Chip and reconnect everything then it runs fine. If I reattach the chip I get the same solid green with an unresponsive drive. could it be a poor contact through the F points? I have already soldered twice and im trying not to damage the drives pcb :\ Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

i had the same problem but after a few "trial and error" it worked. i kept turning it on and off taking the chip off then on and finally i got the drive working and the green light. i still havent soldered the f point so my drive doesnt read the discs yet i suppose. it was probably lucky that it worked but its worth a try.

Have you solder the Regional point(1, 2 on your chip) that reflects your wii regional?
    Check this out.. http://www.wasabi.net.cn/wasabi11.pdf
1st picture, If your WII was purchased in USA, or Canada, you need to bridge 1 on your chip.

Just wondered... Kinda worries me.. Getting a clip tomorrow, and i see problems with wasabi 2 on a clip... (Currently owned (by my son) D2C, NOT D2C2)

yeah, the USA bridge was pre soldered for me, im about to go at it again with the clip and f points to see if I can get the drive to respond at all. I didnt think it would be this complicated haha. Does anyone know what should make the drive spin, the actual chip mounted on the d2c, or the f point? About to do some trial and error. I'll post back in a while.

So its not the f points thats causing the drive to stop working, its definitely the wii clip itself, after removing the wii clip even with f points soldered the drive works and then doesnt after reattaching it, tried resetting the chip over and over but same problem I guess one of the contacts aren't touching. Im going to email where I got it from to get a replacement and hopefully that works but its definitely a pain when the process is supposed to be so simple, but it happens I guess.

Got the Clip delivered yesterday, and Soldered Wasabi 2 on v5 Clip(Purchased from GMODZ.CA), and soldered F point and it works. YEAH!!!!!!

I have a D2C wii and ordered a wasabi v2 and Wasabi Solderless Clip Kit v5 from console source. I am running in to the same issue, after install when I turn on my Wii the LED briefly turns red and then green but the drive is unresponsive. Any luck solving your issue ? or any suggestions ?

I would suggest ordering a replacement clip from wherever you ordered. I received a newer V5B clip which eliminated the need to solder anything at all. I clipped it on and worked like a charm.

Thanks for your quick response loser7787, I checked the wii-clip site and the V5B clip is for D2Sun, if you don't mind where did you buy V5B ? I am assuming you have a wasabi v2 just like me. I would love if I did not have to solder the F point.
