Thread: 3.1E how do i go about updating to 4.1?.

    You could theoretically play NSMB on 2.0 as it uses just one IOS to operate, independent of the Firmware you are running.

    And there was another option, download the full iso.

    Apart from that though you'll need to softmod. Even a wifi Nintendo update to 4.2 wouldn't give you the IOS you need and besides it would kill your import games as 4.2 breaks your modchips ability to load them.
    Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

    tealc i managed to get fifa10 working on my wii.
    i put in a downloaded pal nsmb dvd-r in to my wii and it comes up as system update in the channel window so i done the update and i now have 4.1E on my wii.

    so now i have 4.1E on my wii and when i insert the nsmb game,i get the nsmb in the window and i started it,but when i go to play it i get a message saying an error has occurred,press the eject button,remove the disc,and turn off the power to the console.please refer to the wii operations manual for details.

    tealc what software do i need now to play nsmb,really appreciate your help m8.i have a sd card here do i need to put software on that to play nsmb and if so what do i need thanks.

    Well it looks like you got yourself to 4.1 anyway.

    NSMB has copy protection code written on it and some isos may not work with your modchip. Now that you have the required IOS some of the work is done.

    Now check the New Super Mario Bros threads on the forum on how you can get it working, and which isos actually work with your setup. By the way I don't know anything about NSMB on hardmods. I'm pretty sure there are threads for several different mocdhips floating about.
