Wasabi Zero and Firmware updating (Noob Question)

Hey guys,

recently I've burned a Japanese game (Bleach vs Crusade) and had the region and patch removed using wii iso utilities. The problem is that when I load the game I see the start screen perfectly, but when I hit START I get stuck at a black screen. Now I know that my burn is not corrupt because I downloaded and burned Naruto Shippouden last night and had its region and patch removed. Now what im thinking is that Wasabi zero is preventing the game from loading to prevent an update, as it should be.

Here is where the noob question kicks in. Rather than downloading a new game from my region and updating, can I just update from the WiFi?

What is the current version of Wii firmware and will I have any problems using Wasabi Zero under it?

Thanks for the help guys.

edit: I am running a 3.3 on a NTSC WII. I have also had the black hanging screen on Animal Crossing and WII Music so its not something which is just limited to my Japanese burns.

Hi, how did you update your wii fw? using its default option via internet?

also, do you need to disable update blocker using wasabi tool?
