Question Some issues regarding Wasabi Zero

Hi there!

I've bought a Wasabi Zero chip on it's solderless version.

I've installed it correctly and I've been able to play games with no problems whatsoever

Yet... a problem appears. I'm having some problems with a couple of games: PES2009 and Animal Crossing.

When I try to play PES2009 an error appears. It says that the Wii needs to upgrade something because it detected an unauthorized hardware installed - gotta be the Wasabi Zero. Of course I didn't installed anything and ejected the disk.

Regarding Animal Crossing, I don't even get this error. I mean, Animal Crossing logo and intro music show up on the Wii's system, but when I click on it to open the game a black screen appears and nothing happens.

I've managed to download and run a bunch of other games, like Fifa 09, COD5, Endless Ocean, Trivial Pursuit, etc etc. All in PAL format. They all work great except these two.

What can I do to fix this? All the games I'm downloading are in PAL format. The Wasabi Zero is also configured to work in PAL format.

Thanks for your attention!

When I've tried PES2009 and that error message appeared, it seemed that the firmware update the Wii was asking for, was meant to correct the unauthorized hardware - bug - which is... the Wasabi.

If I can make the firmware update with no problem whatsoever regarding the functioning of the Wasabi Zero, that is wicked.

Do I need to download any other software? Do I need to take any precautions?

Cheers!

usually the updates say something like "this could potentially disable any unauthorized modifications" but no firmware released by nintendo has done that yet, that's just a way to cover their asses if they break your wii in the future

Do you have the update blocker going in your wasabi chip? If not you should install it via the config disc.

There are IOS files that you can install that will help those programs run without having to install the nintendo-sent updates. I can't remember off the top of my head (check the Madworld goes to black screen thread, I uploaded some wads there that you can install to get madworld working, it may help you too.)

Hi guys!

Where can I see the firmware version of my Wii?

And botulismo, what update blocker are you talking about? I just installed Wasabi Zero solderless and started playing games. I did not installed anything....

Do I need to do something else?

Anyway... I was getting the "this could potentially disable any unauthorized modifications" error with PES2009, and now I also get it with Pikmin, that I've just downloaded

Cheers!
