Unhappy wasabi V3 & V5B wiiclip & D2E Wii --> red light only

Hi,

New to wii modding, but not to the scene. I prefer not to change the machine permanently, so I like removable mods. My parameters are:

- D2E wii
- wasabi V3 soldered onto a V5B wiiclip by vendor (note F is soldered to Q)

When the clip is attached to my wii and I power up to test, only the red light comes on, no DVD activity, no turning green.

I removed the clip and tried again with the same result.

When the clip is removed, the wii boots normally.

The chip has a sticker saying it is D2C2 and D2E compatible, so I think things should work. Momentarily confused by the wiiclip website which talks a lot about D2C and D2C2, but not really about D2E.

Quite sure that I'm attaching things correctly, and I don't want to wear anything out, so I started searching for advice, landing here.

Contacted vendor and am waiting for advice from that front. Wish I had come here first and bought from a company that has posters in this forum...sigh.

Any advice from the experienced?

Thanks!

use a magnifying glass and inspect the inside part of the clip for any bent pins, mashed plastic or horizontally bent pins that lay along the surface (hard to spot). if you can take a picture of the chip top and bottom perhaps something was overlooked that we can spot like the #1 jumper.

Thanks for the response, Spyman.

Pictures of the front and back of the wiiclip/wasabi combination are attached. The clip seems okay to my eye; I hope the pictures hold up. And I think the soldering job they did is correct, based upon my readings.
