Unhappy Drive won't do anything

I just received and installed a solderless Wasabi for D2C2+D2E on my new wii with D2C. I only get a red light. I get a blue light that goes out and the drive motor never turns. It won't eject or receive disks. I carefully removed the wii-clip, but the drive still will not initialize. Can you help me fix it?

ok you will need a magnifying glass. inspect the pins on your wii board (not the clip).
and make sure none of them are bent up or ruined. if you can scan the drive board in or take a very high resolution picture then we can help further.

Also make sure its not something simple like your cables not being plugged in properly. Sometimes users end up putting the plug in weird and bend the pin on the inside.

Thanks, Spyman. Is shipping it to Nintendo for a warrantee repair a bad idea?

I'll try to get a high res photo soon--I tried last night with a cheap camera but was turning out blurry. Will I be able to unbend mashed pins myself? I pressed pretty hard on the clip...

Sending to nintendo should be the last option, first try to do as Spyman suggested. Once ou have the photos more help can be provided.

I didn't even unplug them initially. I don't think that's the problem.

hmm I don't see anything physically that looks out of place, what is the condition of the inside part of the wiiclip ? do you have a magnifying glass to take a close look?

Where did you do the installation, is it possible the drive is a victim of static zap?

I touched the back of my grounded PC prior to doing anything with it. I never noticed any static. I've attached pics of the inside of the wii-clip. I think it looks ok. I was hesitant, but I tried it on a friend's wii as well, and only got a red light and no drive spinning while it was on. His drive worked again after I took it off. My wii drive still won't spin up regardless. Any suggestions on what to try next?

If your drive is dead without the clip on and there's no obviousy physical problems, yeah, you might need to send your drive in...you might get hit with epoxy on the drive they ship back if they honor the warranty.
