Wasabi v3, Cannot insert disc

Hello all, I've just finished install the Wasabi V3 without the clip. When I turn on the power button, I see the little red light on the modchip flashs then turn to a stable green. Somehow, I cannot insert the disc, that's one problem. Secondly, whenever I turn the console on within a few seconds there's a error disc, even i didn't insert the disc yet. The console frozen.

Chipset D2C2 with the CLIP on the drive.

I've soldered all correctly as instructed. Here are the things that I've done.

9 wires as instructed
connect 2 dots on number 1 on the modchip

Thank you

Ok....Did you use thick wires for the ground and voltage?

Check around the chip on the dvd drive. Sounds like you have some grounding thus making your wii get the error message. Confirm by taking the chip off and seeing if the system is back to normal.

Also make sure that no wires are exposed too much or shorting (exposed wire going to the drive's chipset)

I've tried the above steps but it doesn't work. Took off the modchip, still not work.
I used the thicher wire ( greater than 30 awg ) for ground and voltage.
Put the console back without the modchip and still not work.
Any chance the modchip messed up ?
I've read a lot even before I put the modchip on. But somehow can't get the idea that the DVD drive would not insert the disc. When I put the disc in the DVD drive, it turns on but would not pull the disc in that's the problem.

hmmm....it looks like you got a bad Wasabi v3 chip...cause normally this chip works perfect with me, try using some new but different wires for the points, sometimes the wires tend to give the chip a hard time to function properly.

I have 3 wii systems, there's only one is working fine with Wasabi chip/clip 100% solderless. The other 2 have the same problem as yours - can't insert the disc. I'm going to return the chip/clip to the seller to exchange it to D2pro, but I haven't recieved it yet.

As long as it is inserted properly, you're fine. With the v5b clip, it's real easy. With the other wiiclip, just solder the 1 wire and you're good to go.

to me, if you're lucky and you pick the right one for your system, you'll be fine. If you're not, it won't work at all and you'll loose your confident.........hahaha.. At first, I thought Wasabi is compatility to all drive, but it's not true. I have 3 Wii systems. There is only one Wasabi working fine with one of my Wii systems (D2C, D2E). The other 2 couldn't insert the disc. Even the chips inside both Wii systems are them same D2E.

The seller will exchange it and let me try the different one like D2pro.
