Us what chip will work for me????
ok my serial is LU579469208
model # RVL-001(USA)

the wiitracker says 50% chance
There is a 50% chance that your drive chip is a GC2-D2C

There is a 50% chance that the pins on your drive chip are not cut.

but heres the reason why i question this
i got this wii this year in july
could i use a wiikey or does it need to be the D2cpro chip????

You're gunna need to go pro. Only the D2B chips and earlier are WiiKey compatible.

All wii's bought before august of 2007 should be D2B so yours will probably need a D2pro9

you can use the d2pro or the wasabi for your wii. we carry both items and now throw in the tri wing for free.limited time offer!

As you purchased your wii in July of this year, it is most likely D2C2 or maybe even a D2CE in either of case you would need to use either D2Pro9v3 or Wasabi3

d2ckey wont work on d2c2 wiis.....wiis with serial number lu566 and above are pretty much d2c2s...

I'd recommend the wiizard mod or d2pro9. If you want an easy install with a wii-clip go with the d2pro9. If you're going to have someone install it for you then get the wiizard mod!
