    Us Hi, I am new.

Hi WiiHacks community I am Collin MacGregor, I would like to introduce myself as a new member.

My younger brothers back home have my Wii, and they are probably too young or too disinterested to try modding it.

I read through the forum posting rules, and I really hope not to break them.

However, I will be completely honest in my introduction of myself and my intentions of joining this site. I am an employee for iFixit and I would just like other people to know that before I make any further posts. (@ site mods, please read through the whole post before passing judgment)

iFixit is reaching out to dedicated game console communities. It is my goal to eventually receive feedback from WiiHacks members about our site's free game console repair manuals. We have open-source guides that are user-contributed about lots of electronics. We offer free guides so that anyone can follow them and repair their broken stuff instead of having to throw it out and replace it. We do not make money off of these guides. We make money from selling replacement parts and tools.

I am NOT here to advertise for any WiiHacks member to buy parts or tools from us. I merely would like to get feedback from members about our guides for:

    -quality
    -easiness to follow

If anyone would like to provide feedback about our Nintendo Wii Manual , please reply to this post. I do not want to post anywhere else about this on these forums right now (do not wish to spam the site)

I figured it would be a good idea to post this introduction of myself here. If any site moderators wish to delete this because they think it is spam or advertising, please do. I just figured it would be appropriate to post this here after reading through the forum rules.

EDIT: Forgot to include my name

Hello, Collin and thank you for your explanatory post and for reading our site rules. I have moved your post to the Visiting Staff Forum. I am familiar with the iFixit Guides. Unfortunately, despite a number of visits, I have never read a relevant post, guide, or item for my past problems with PCs, routers, etc. I do, however, appreciate the availability of the guides and especially enjoy the well-photographed teardowns.

Thank you for stopping by WiiHacks and thank you for your invitation for member feedback on your Nintendo Wii Manual.

Thanks for moving my post to here, I didn't notice this forum discussion section.

Yeah it is an issue on our site that we currently do not have a lot of deep content related to PC and router issues. We only have a small team of dedicated guide makers, who can only generate a finite amount of manuals (its or goal to have every possible thing you can repair on our website).

So we're trying t o branch out to communities to share their knowledge and expertise.

Also, thanks for not deleting my post!

    Cool,

Got any advice for where we could improve on, or material we should add to the site?

Also, we got our hands on a Nintendo Famicom, and should be posting a teardown of it sometime in the next week or two.

Would it be alright to post a topic on a general discussion board about it when we do?

We don't really have a section for Famicom, but we do have a User-submitted tutorial/guide section of the site. Perhaps that may be an appropriate place for it? That or just as likely, the Member-submitted news section. Good luck and always glad to have folks with other sites stop in and mingle.
