I'm terribly curious as to whether this is an option or if not, why not.
We have quite deep, it seems, hacking abilities with regards to manipulating various aspects of the Wii. It seems that we should be able to do something similar to creating a softlink over from the storage mechanism from the built in memory to a hard drive or SD mount point if the OS is *nix based.
Unfortunately I've not seen enough about the structure of how the cios and so forth function yet, but it seems that there must be some sort of option out there. It is absolutely insane that they require us to continually backup and restore saved games to get more darn "blocks."
I've not read of any solutions as of yet and I'm hoping I'm just missing it. Otherwise I would like to figure out why we've not seen it yet and what options exist to get around it, even if it has to be a code injection vector to allow redirection of saved games to a different memory address which would facilitate HD or SD storage...
Lets try our hardest to search the fourms before posting questions

It seems that some games are using in the 100+ range of blocks for saves. Further then you have some items that are just insane and beg immediate deletion. I discovered some insane video that got installed mysteriously that was consuming 1100+ blocks.
However, as non-trivial as it may be, it should be doable. I just don't see why we can't make this happen as it would ameliorate a number of headaches it would seem to have such an ability.
