One of the good things about Xbox Live Arcade is the the opportunities available to indie developers. If they register with the App Hub and go through the four step Create, Submit, Playtest and Peer Review process, then the indie games may be released onto XBLA for Xbox 360 owners to purchase and enjoy. One of the most recent developers to get this opportunity is Aldorlea Games, whom Casual Friday readers are definitely familiar with.
One of Aldorlea’s most popular series is an episodic RPG called Millenium. Four of the five episodes in this series have been released for Windows PCs so far, with the fifth planned for an early 2012 release. In either October or November 2011, Xbox 360 owners will be able to experience the first episode,Millenium: A New Hope thanks to Aldorlea and Geex’s efforts. There’s no word on price yet, but it will likely be much cheaper than the $13.99 price tag on the PC version.
Myst is ruled by Mystrock and it’s 13 warrior lords, who oppress the citizens and only care about what happens to the upper classes. Marine and her father want to change things, and the only way to do that is for Marine to travel around the country to find 12 other warriors who are willing to fight back. She only has one month to accomplish this goal though, so she has to hurry and build her force! The game has 40 quests to complete, 1- hidden rooms and multiple difficulty levels.
In the meantime, you can always download the Millenium: A New Hope demo for your computer. It should give you an idea of what to expect from the XBLA port and that way you can decide ahead of time if you want to support this indie developer or not.
