not sure what people downgrade too, all i did was put the homebrew channel on, without wifi, noticed some vc stuff not worked, connected wii to wifi, upgraded firmware to 4.xx whatever it is, then the homebrew asked to download some files i let it, and all works fine.. with wiikey installed..
The moral of the story is, connect it to the net... i think
my wii is modchipped, but i wanted to use the VC arcade so i did the twilight hack, but not connected to the internet, in fact i never knew the wii had wifi built in..lol i checked firmware was 3.2e but vc stuff didnt work well, so i connected to the internet upgraded to firmware 4 the homebrew channel was still there when i started the channel up it downloaded some files and everything works..
hi i have been reading everything i can in order to install wads onto my wii. i have the hbc installed and i am at version 3.2u. i also have the homebrew browser and it works. i even have d/l the nes, snes emulators from the browser and they work! i just cannot get my wii to install wads!? i have read the guides and followed step by step and i still get the same error ret =-1.
i am connected to the internet, everything works except for wad installer. always get error ret =-1 it wont even work so that i can install any of the custom ios'. i would be quite happy with the emulators but i really want to play n64 games on wii and the wii64 emulator does not work so unfortunately i need to install wads. once again if anyone has figured out how to fix this problem, any help would be appreciated
ehh im a uber noob and clueless lol i got home one day and my wii was modded but it had homebrew channel i followed the steps i just dont see StarFall on the Homebrew Channel its a .boot file but i dont see anything when i load the Homebrew Channel any thoughts
This is my first post here. I read several posts on this sites for 2 weeks before I even touched my Wii and let me say this site is great! Thanks to all who wrote the tutorials and such!
I have a NTSC Wii running 3.2U. I downgraded from 4.0. I got all that stuff done do problem. Downgraded IOS also. Installed backup channel, starfall, GX USB loader all this stuff working fine!
I still cannot play the WAD games. I followed the tutorial. I install the WAD using WAD manager 1.3, restart and the game shows up on the game channel. I click on it and the screen goes full screen and looks ok. When I click start the screen goes black and stays that way for minutes. At this point NO buttons on the remote work. I have to hold down the power button on the Wii to shut if off then restart. I have installed other software WADs no problem. I am thinking it is something simple since I have USB loader working fine, HBC is fine, downgraded to 3.2 fine and getting my butt kicked by WAD games? Any help is appreciated.

Reason: BTW I am using NTSC wads. I even tried regionfree WADS with no luck
