Mike I believe there is a guide for that. Please give it a look as things here are a little crazy to start getting into how to get that issue worked out. Do a search in the guides section and you will find all the answers there.

Thumbs up cyber, hope this helps

cyberbot, im not really the best person in the world 4 talking about when it come 2 hacking wii, i'v been struggling myself 2 get 4.3 homebrew 2 work, however there no game for 4.3 currenty meaning the all u have 2 do is update 2 4.2 instead,

    heres how,

    1. delete the homebrew channel in ur 4.1 wii (this will stop it bricking)
    2. update 2 4.2 as normal
    3. i'll attach a the 4.2 stuff 2 this messege, unzip the file (RAR) then put it in ur SD card the way it is
    4. put ur sd card in ur wii and load up the ds card nt from data managment (it will freeze ur wii, don't worry it won't brick, just freeze) but from the dscard icon on the wii menu
    5. install homebrew chanel, boot2, ios, and dvdX
    6. find the homebrew apps u want and enjoy

    hope i helped

We have followed the guide and got everything setup but now have a problem with the backup games loading. In the very first box on the wii it shows the game backup you click on it hit start and it goes to error 002 eject disk and turn off power and refer to manual. Anyone have any ideas of something we may have done wrong to cause this or a reason why its doing this?
    thanks

same situation, i am trying to play New Super Mario Bros. through neogamma r8 rev17 in the homebrew channel and am getting "dvd read error (1328)" I reburned the game at 2x on a verbatim dvd-r.

I also tried the "Install INDIANA PWNS (brick protection)" hack in STEP 6 and after burning the .iso to disc and trying to load it in neogamma, i get the same error message: "dvd read error (1328)"

I did the whole installation as mentioned successfully and it always loads straight to the homebrew channel.

Do I need to install cIOS38r17 as well? Which ISO do I install it on after completing this guide?

I was sent here from the fix thread (I guess I didn't have Cios installed on my wii). Anyway, I tried to follow the tutorial virgin 4.3 (R2) and I'm using the Super Smash Brothers Brawl method on an NTSC system.
After I get past the select multi mod manager part, I have to use my game cube controller. I get the following errors at step 2-1

Step 2- Restore the Trucha Bug
    2-1
    Select IOS Manager- Press A
    Select ios41- Press + to install v3091
WARNING: DO NOT PRESS A, DO NOT INSTALL V3348
Say NO to all 4 patches, install from SD card
    Right after this appears:

    ERROR: ES_AddTitleStart (-1035)
    Error: Installing IOS41 v3091

    What am I doing wrong?

Oh I should also add that I notice that when I highlight 41 it says
    Currently selected: IOS41
    Currently Loaded: IOS36 v3607
    Version installed: v3348

I saw in big red letters not to install V3348 but if I am reading this correctly, it seems it's already installed? - Does this mean I'm unable to get my Homebrew channel back?

Edit: I'm not sure if this will make a difference or not but I got this particular Wii when they first came out in the US - it's an older model. Can anything be done? It seems my problem is unique here in this particular forum. I used to have the homebrew channel up and running just 2 days ago - now after a careless update I'm left reading through pages and pages of different forum posts hoping to find a solution.
Just in case this is pertinent as well - I'll paste it here:

Hey I don't get what you mean by a virgin wii so can I tell you somethings about my wii so u can tell me if it is a virgin or not because to me it is confusing. Ok I had homebrew channel before and I hacked online with some games but then I got banned online. So somebody told me that if I reformatted my wii it would unbann me. So I did and it worked but it updated to 4.3
