You must NOT get past it. It's required, we want you to make a NAND back-up, but I was confused that he couldn't load Multi-Mod Manager, since that was loaded via BootMii, too. I then intended to delete my comment right away, but certainly he was too fast to read it.

You must not get past it. Read the comment from dickerson420 and you will do fine.

I read dickerson420's post, and i did as it said, formatted the sd card, before putting the second pack back onto it. But the screen is still black and the unit still flashing blue after having launched bootmii through hbc.

I just don't know what do to get further than step 2.

After having finished step 1, I got to step 2 and the hackmii installer where the only options were installing hbc and bootmii. I installed hbc with no problems. Bootmii was installed with ios, not boot2, I don't know if this is significant...

Then, with the first pack that I installed hbc and bootmii with, i get to the bootmii menu after having launched it through hbc. But it's frozen, as it is explained in the guide. I pressed power and reset (I don't have a gc-controller) but there's no reaction other than the wii restarting.

Then after having deleted the first pack from the sd-card and put the second pack on, I'm back to where I am now.

The screen gets black and the unit starts flashing blue after having launched bootmii through hbc...

I had this problem myself more than enough, but all it means is that it can't load BootMii in a proper way. Either it can't read the SD card, or the files are corrupted, or some of them are missing. What brand SD card are you using?

You might try redownload the first pack and uninstall hbc and bootmii than install both again.

    Thanks

Oh and what about going back to 4.1? The new one does not have that.

Basically this is where i am:

Read: You have not paid, you have not been scammed -Press 1
    Install Homebrew Channel
Install Bootmii as Boot2 (if you can)
    Exit Hackmii Installer
    Homebrew Channel loads (HBC)
    4-b-
    Press HOME, launch Bootmii
    <--------------------------------- i'm stuck here
    Make a nand backup

When i tried to launch bootmii, the screen went black and the blue light on the wii unit where the disk goes in started flashing, it just sat there for ages - so i power cycled it.
The wii fired up again, and homebrew channel was still sitting there.

Theres nothing in the homebrew channel, and when i press home and 'load bootmii' i get the same black screen and flashing blue light on the wii unit. I've read through all 211 pages of this forum trying to find someone else having the same issue before i posted this, but couldn't see anything resembling it.

i dont know if this is significant or not, when i press the home button in the homebrew channel it shows "1.0.7 IOS61 v22.29" (perhaps this will aid in finding out where ive gone wrong?)

It's 2:21am where i am, so i'm going to call it a night - any help or information could you provide would be appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance !

I am having this exact same problem, any help would be appreciated!

Okay, I did that. Now I'm back to the BootMii menu. I've got no response from the wii-mote, what do i do to make a nand backup?
