    ECC failure - Bootmii backup

First of all, kudos for the great work here Mauifrog, and also to Rx10 and many others for sharing their knowledge. You guys are legends.

I have been reading this thread for a couple of weeks and decided to take the plunge today.

So, I have 4.3e Virgin Wii and so far have followed the steps with the latest files up to nand Backup without problem

But, while making the nand backup, Bootmii has hung (30+mins) while maybe 30% through the blocks. I now have the following log on Bootmii Backup screen:

    BackupMii, NAND ID: addcXXXX
    Free Space: 962MB
    Saved Keys for console XXcdXXXa
ECC Failure (uncorrectable) for page 89
ECC failure (uncorrectable) for page 89

Has anyone else encountered this? What should my next step be? Do I restart from the beginning ie. Load Hackmii, Install HBC, Bootmii or is this a deeper problem

    Thanks

None that I can see. Here is my current Bootmii screen..

Is it possible that the backup is complete? None of the console buttons work except for eject, which has just spat out my Indy DVD.

If I reboot at this point, will I lose HBC?

    Re: NAND backup failure
I have now removed the SD card without resetting/exiting Bootmii (it is still frozen on my screen)

I now have on my SD card:
installer.log (shows info on bootmii install but nothing re nand backup)
    private ƒ
    bootmini.elf
    boot.elf
    nand.bin (0kb)
    keys.bin (16kb)
    bootmii ƒ - ppcboot.elf, bootmii.ini, armboot.bim

I have no idea what to do next. Does anyone know if I can safely power off/reset?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

You can power off your wii. The bootmii nand dump should not effect anything. Just try again, perhaps with a different sd-card, or format with the tool from the guide. Just hold the power button down for about 10 sec to power off. Be sure to save the /bootmii folder, you need it to load bootmii.
