Why do we contine to support NTFS for use with Wii backups?

    # NTFS discussion is OVER. NTFS is bad, big, closed and FAT/WBFS are good enough for USB loading. Period.

    # @Ugemmogge IOS222 doesn't have NTFS. I think you mean oggzee's module, that allows loading from NTFS. I won't include something like that.

    # @Ugemmogge You sure? I'm pretty sure Hermes doesn't want to include NTFS support in his cIOS too.

It has improved a lot and it works great(for me) and is a lot easier to maintain....Still Fat32 1st Ntfs 2nd and WBFS no longer needed

I wonder if this (NTFS) contributes to the recent problems with GX?

It's all a matter of preference, nothing is needed or not needed.

    For me:
    1. WBFS
    2. FAT32
    3. NTFS never

If Hermes and Waninkoko will not add NTFS support, and will never support it, then that is good enough for me to stay away from it.

my softmod guide and my recommendations go by what i try and what the developers of the loaders suggest...who would know better then them

nothing is needed or not needed.
    point taken

but i will never recommend wbfs again

oggzee of the CFG team added the NTFS support, USB Loader GX uses that which was developed by the CFG team.

I see, I thought the cIOS would need to support it as well.

I've used NTFS with no issues on my end. Works well with Wiiflow and Cfg, have not tested gx.
    Damn I suck!!!!

I remember back before USB Loader GX added NTFS support, it was a not so troublesome loader, but started having problems when NTFS was implemented into the loader. I've been testing WBFS for nearly 2 years now, with no issues. But then again, my Wii usb hdd is used for only that - Wii games which do not require FAT32 or NTFS. I have other usb hdd's for my computer and emulators and WiiMC. Since the release of IOS58 and AHBPROT, anything that cannot use WBFS gets plugged into usb port 1.

edit - I should have noted that anything that I use that cannot use WBFS gets plugged into usb port 1.
