    SD/SDHC Compatibility List

I figured we should have a SD/SDHC compatibility list like we do for hard drives. It might cut down on some of the repetitive SD/SDHC questions.

With the help of Krank I've laid some guidelines for the list. First if possible list a model or model number in addition to the brand. Secondly the important features to test are:

    1) If the Wii recognises it and it can be used for official things like game saves and WiiWare/VC.

    2) If it is recognised by the HBC for Homebrew apps and so forth.

    3) If Bootmii recognises it and you can make a NAND backup with no problems.

    4) If you can Bannerbomb with it.

In addition if you want to add any specific info for the card such as a particular Homebrew app doesn't like it, it works well with SNEEK, it's good for launching games off of, etc. I will add a notes section for that card. Even if you haven't tested it on one or more of the requirements I will still add it to the list in hopes that you will further test it or another member can fill in the blanks.

You can only use SDHC with system menu 4.0 or above!

    Confirmed working:

    Apacer

    DANE-ELEC

    Kingston

    Lexar

    Micro Center

    PNY

    PQ1

    Samsung

    SanDisk

    Transcend

Post your results with whatever SD/SDHC you are using and I'll add them to the list. If you see a thanks under your post from me under you'll know it's been added.

1 GB PNY works perfect w/Bootmii,HBC,Wiiware/VC games.(BannerBomb Worked as Well)
    The 1GB PNY worked with full Installs/nand Backup.(Hacked 3 Wii's with it)
The 1Gb PNY is being used by my cousin w/ six Wii games on it.(Wbfs Format)

Thanks jax. I was beginning to think only Cile and myself used SD/SDHC cards. I figured the SanDisk Nintendo branded ones one work perfectly but I didn't want to add them until someone actually confirmed them. I'll add thanks when it re-appears. The thanks tab is not there right now probably due to traffic or something.

Does anyone else use an SD or SDHC card? I know there are at least 4 of us on the site.

I'm using a Sandisk 16gb micro SDHC with USB loader GX and WBFS manager. Every game I put on it works perfectly unlike my western digital 500gb passport which has been very inconsistent. A 16gb only holds about 8 games so I would like to upgrade to a 32gb micro SDHC.

Have you tested it on anything else? I didn't originally think about game loading off of SD/SDHC when I started this thread but I didn't specify. I was thinking more along the lines of normal uses like Bannerbomb, Bootmii, HBC, Wii data transfer and so forth.

Well I'm new to this stuff. I watched a video on youtube by toosmartguys, downloaded the wehackwii software, and installed. I had a 16gb SanDisk micro SDHC card available and loaded it up with games using WBFS. It works great with USB loader GX and CFG loader.
