Are you recieving the Ret -1 error during the installation of a cIOS? If so, you are probably trying to install the cIOS from a WAD. At the beginning of many recent cIOS installers, you will have the option to select WAD or Network for install location. Hope this helps!

nah im trying network installation... i want to reverse the steps i've done here, and just try installing the cios via wad installation without downgrading to 3.2.... As im only on 3.3 i believe from what i've read it should work?

I went back to installing v36 rev 10 Cios, using the wad method this time, and PERFECT, My son is now playing Paper Mario Backup and he's happy as larry! Pity i picked the crappiest game in the world to get first hey! haha.... Im using the backup loader with a dvd, do i have to do anything different to the cios or anything to go to an ext hdd and usb loader guys?

Read the last few posts. There is a posted answer on page 40 or 41. Just delete the homebrew channel and install the Beta 9 release via Bannerbomb. Finish downgrading, then upgrade homebrew channel after succesful downgrade.

Problem with Downgrader
I have the 4.0U firmware on my Wii. I have Homebrew via the bannerbomb. Because I already have Homebrew I used the link under UPGRADING FIRMWARE. Once I put that file in my SD card and inserted my SD card to my Wii, I open the HBC and open the Downgrader it just automatically restarts my Wii.
What have I done wrong?

Hello, I have a UPGRADE firmware question
I have firmware 3.1U, I am trying to get to 3.2U so I can use Starfall. I went to homebrew channel, click Cios downgrader, then it list all firmwares available, which were 2.0 firmwares....I have cIOS downgrader 1.2 and if it matters I also have cios37_rev3, so why are 3.0 firmware's not showing up as an option during installation?
EDIT: Scroll button FTW!!!! I feel stupid

Hi all I'm new to this and I'm stuck with the upgrade part.
I have homebrew channel installed, I'm on 3.1e and I have cios_downgrader downloaded as per the Ultimate Upgrade/Downgrade Guide by Chris Chown, saved as apps\ciso_downgrader.
My problem is that when I start homebrew channel the ciso_downgrader is there but when I click on it it just returns to the black press A healthy and safety screen after a little while, nothing loads. I have a working wi=fi connection and I'm really scratching my head do I need ciso36_rev10 installer also in the apps to run the ciso_downgrader ? Help would be appreciated greatly !
Thanks in advance.
