I am a new kids on the block, I am planning to buy Wii, just concern how to unlock it even before buy one

I got a pal aus wii with 3.4U firmware, i have got a mod chip and i got the hbc and i dont want to downgrade my fimware coz its to hard and ive tryed it many times and failed, i want to dump the iso image from a game to a usb or wifi or SD but from what ive seen it only works up to 3.2 firmware, is there any other way i can do the same thing but stay on 3.4U, and please give links if possible.
I cam not going to ever mod anything, and I do network support but all this stuff is proprietary so other than generally knowing what I'm doing with Windows I feel like a total idiot...

You guys really need a "total noob guide" that starts with; So you bought a Wii, now what?
Everything talks about needing a save game, I'm assuming that to start ANY of these homebrews you need a copy of Twilight Princess... THEN you have have to downgrade your firmware to 3.2... THEN you can put in the homebrew channel... ???
I am interested in creating ISO's of all my games and using homebrew apps... I'm looking at the FAQ's now but shit, thats a LOT of stuff to sort through!
Also. I just bought a Wii on Black Friday so I'm assuming its a newer model, does that matter? I assume I have to turn off my automatic firmware updates... correct?

You sorta had it the right way around
it goes
Buy wii --> get zelda tp, --> copy over twilight hack --> install hbc --> donwgrade --> enjoy
of course theres things to do in between etc like playing the game 1st and making a save, then copying the hack over..... I just genralised it a great deal =D

Hmm, I thought downgrade would be an earlier step, thanks for the post! I have Zelda and have been playing it, will back up save (does it matter if I have more than one?) then try the HBC this weekend...
hi every one im not one for making post but i would like to thank every one on here for all there help if it wasent for this site my wii would not be moded now i am pleased with it i managed to install the wii 2 6 wire solderd model d2c did loads of reading im not brill at soldering took me a good 3 hours cos i wanted to make sure everything went ok and it did i nearley got the solderles
chip glad i went this way cos i think soldering is beter any way i thank every bodey for all there time and efort they put into thiese thread
Hi, ive downgraded my wii from 3.4 to 3.1. I chose 2.1 by accident because i never knew you had to scroll down to see more. But the thing is that when i try to play my original mario kart disc it says that it'll update the system. Am i supposed to proceed through the update or do i use the cIOS Downgrader V1.2 again and choose 3.2 or 3.3?

hi there daddar just do the twilight hack again and install 3.2 seems to be the best at the monent as far as i know but make sure its for your country if its uk then it should have 3.2e hope this helps you you can do it you don it once now do it again all the best.
