Cool Guide: Softmod ANY Wii + FAT32 Hard Drives = ?????

K, so I successfully modded my 4.3U Wii with the "Softmod ANY Wii" guide and I am now trying to merge what was completed with the "Softmod ANY Wii" guide with this guide... Just making sure I understand what needs to be done to get a USB Fat32 HD setup correctly... It seems simple enough but I don't want to multiple install WAD's....

Q1] Is it recommended to use/have/setup both Configurable USB Loader & WiiFlo or is it recommended to choose one and stick to one ??? (Usually 2 is better then 1)

So the "Softmod ANY Wii" guide states that it already installs the following needed IOS's...

Cios FAQ- What this mod installs

    IOS58 (rev 6175+): No Patches
IOS222 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0 -hermes v4 base-38
IOS223 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0 -hermes v4 base -37/38
Q2] Do the Forwarder Channel WAD's (USBLoaderCFG - UCXF - IOS58 v6.wad & carbonik-Nforwarder58-WFBJ.wad ) still need to be install or are they already part of the mods previously done??? (They are probably two separate things but I might be wrong)

Q3] Do the folders outside the "USB:/apps/" folder (USBLoader & WiiFlow) need to stay outside or can they be combined into the apps "USB:/apps/USBLoader/ & USB:/apps/wiiflow/" folder to keep the root less crowded ???

@Y314K. I got confused with that too
    1) Apparently forwarder channels is to do with your router not your wii so don't worry about that, not needed.
    2) Not sure - I have them on my SD card
Make sure your games are in this structure too usb/wbfs/gamename[game id]/gameid.wbfs

    @jre345
Yeah it's all good. I'm a complete noob to softmodding and got it working no problem. Take your time, be careful and good luck Man I hate discs!! I'm sure the only reason they still make them is to force us to rebuy games we already own. My friend who owns a DVD store believes they deliberately make rental dvds easy to scratch when it's easy to give them much better protection make the scratch proof. I wouldn't say it was a long shot. Xbox 360s even scratch the discs for you if you can't be bothered to do it yourself

A forwarder channel sits on your wii menu and when selected points to the app on the sd card and has nothing to do with a router. You are probably thinking of port forwarding on a router.....

    @ Y314K

Q1 - You can have 2 loaders if you wish
Q2- The cfg forwarder channel is installed with the mod any wii guide. If you want wiiflow then there is a wiiflow guide.
Q3- The structure needs to be USB://WBFS/gamename[game id]/gameid.wbfs

    and not USB://APPS/WBFS/gamename[game id]/gameid.wbfs

Cool... Right... I already have the Configurable USB Loader forwarder on my Wii... Guess I would need to add the other one for WiiFlow if I wanted to add that to my system...

On Q3] I was talking specifically about the USB Loader & WiiFlow folders... If u look at them u see that the .dol files are in its own folder in the apps directory but there is a folder in the root for it too with folders like "covers" and "themes" and a bunch of other files... I was wondering if everything can be kept/moved in the one folder that already is in the apps folder & that has the .dol file...

    Hi,
After reading 4.3U Wii hack several times, I have decided to hack my 4.3U Wii, but before I just want to make sure I can download games to USB. So I started with this thread ( FAT32 Hard Drives - Formatting, Loading, Ripping, Playing) and followed all instructions for FAT32 formatting and tried WiiBackupManager to transfer a iso image to my WD 500 GB passport and it throwed this error
"WiiDisk.DoFiles - Invalid Partition found". Can anyone has any idea about it? I did format as FAT32 using EASEUS Partition Master, so I don't know where I got wrong.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,

First off: Piracy is not supported here at wiihacks! Making back-ups is fine, but downloading games if you do not own an original copy is not supported!
Well, it really seems like there is a problem with the partition. I would try reformatting it. I suggest using GParted. It's free and good.
Awesome sig picture does not work

It's been almost a year since I mod my wii, and can't remember which softmod guide I used back then, but at one point you say:
    "
**FAT32 USB Loading will only work with Hermes cIOS222/223 or with cIOSx Rev 19 +**"
Is there any way to check if I have these on so that I can mod my wii according to your guide?

    Thanks!!

You can run a syscheck or update your cios at 249 using Richardsito's guide here ---> http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...ion-guide.html

I am using the correct path for the art, the same as what I use for my SD card which works fine but when I take out the SD and try to load art from Hdd, nothing and I have also tried to download with the SD out and the loader reports something like "error no SD." I think the issue is CFG is automatically looking in the SD and I think I need to change where it looks for the cover art but I have no idea how to change it.
This is a usb loader issue so you need to post in the cfg guide.
