Yes, I can confirm it's a bug in GX, just like in the previous version I referred to and the bit I quoted on the previous post, and like Krank just confirmed too.

When loading from FAT32 GX always reverts to using cIOS222 regardless of the settings.

I just installed cIOS222 and it's working just fine.

Cile, do you still want me to do a syscheck?
If you uninstall Hermes you will be able to recreate this problem.

When loading from FAT32 GX always reverts to using cIOS222 regardless of the settings.
I got it to Load cIOS223 by editing the global.cfg but it still tried to load IOS249 first. So now my question is...why won't it load cIOSx Rev19 or Rev 20 if it supports FAT32? Or is that just an issue that jw1 is having?

I did not test with cIOSx installed to 249.... but I have cIOS38 rev 17 installed to 249 so it won't load that. It also won't load my cIOSx Rev 19 installed to slot 250, either editing from PC or within GX. Just loads back to 222....so is that because I am loading it from slot 250 rather then 249? Makes no sense to me. This just raises the question...why use it. Anyway , @ jw1 does it attempt to load IOS249 for you as well... then revert to 222? You said you had rev 20 installed?
    Damn I suck!!!!

    Yes, I have cIOS249[56] rev20.

It's not just me. It won't work for anyone that doesn't have Hermes installed. Confirmed it does apply to GX v938 too.

You could call it a bug in GX. See post #64 in this thread for quote and link to this discussion at the other site.

This was annoying me so I tested further. Both WiiFlow and Cfg (249 versions) Load and play games fine with either cIOSx Rev 19 or rev 20.

r938 of GX will start, but won't load any games with cIOSx rev 19 or 20 (results in "bad magic"). I tried GX r923 and it worked fine with cIOSx Rev 19 and 20. So I guess FAT support for cIOSx Is broken in revision 938..(the reason I stopped using GX long ago, broken features).

Anyway, the guide will be updated to reflect this, replacing the GX Revision. Sorry for any trouble this has caused anyone.

Is there a way to get the artwork to work in USB Loader GX straight from a USB HD without having the SD card inplace? I have all the artwork on the USB HD but need the SD card inplace, it's as if the SD card saves the information to tell the wii to look on the USB HD for the artwork?
