Droopie, I liked the universal HD idea also, but it turns out to not be as practical. Right now I have 1 partition on my drive as FAT32 and I use it for Wii, Xbox360 and PC Storage..however moving that drive back and forth all over the place is really not ideal..and not being able to store larger files is a pain.

For me I am going to get some more drives, I will have one formatted FAT32 for my Wii only, another for just my 360, then another for storage

i may not know alot but this tutorial was the MOST helpful for usb loading. after trying other formats and totally messing up the USB i had to google and find the HP usb formatting tool to completely restored the usb. this tutorial, from what i found, wont really change your hard drive. does it? i basically did the formatting under the win 7 64 and had saved the x:\wbfs\title\game.wbfs in my main hard drive. i went from the fat32 after a complete restore to formatting in to ntfs and dragging the converted backup in the root of the usb. thats all. worked great on wiiflow channel.

yea i am going back and forth trying to figure out how i want to set up my 2 2tb hard drives or get a dedicated 2tb for wii as it will only be used for games. currently im thinking of getting a usb switch to have all my devices connected to the 1 hdd dual bay. i might also look into getting a wireless usb adapter to send files over. hopefully all the setup pains will work out since they seem to work for single a device (wii).

awww its really SUCH a shame i cant use the GX loader! i love how that looks. i dont know if there is any way i can update to be able to run that loader because all i get is a black screen after load. it does find the games though and even shows all the artwork. i cannot get the wiiflow to detect OR download the artwork...

    Yes it completely erases it.

It mentions in the guide that you need cIOSx Rev19/20 or Hermes cIOS222v4 to load from FAT32 with GX. I find GX buggy (even more so with FAT32 loading).

I believe the answer to my question is no, but I want to double check first.

If I want to use WiiFlow, I will need to follow this guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-custom-s...os-v4-out.html
If I want to use the USB Loader GX, I need to install cIOSx Rev19 or 20.

Is it possible to install both the Hermes cIOS 222 and the cIOS rev19, and then use either loader with a FAT32 HD?

why use would you want to use both if you dont mind me asking? imo usb loader gx is way better but direct answers from other mods have told me its either fat32/ntfs or wbfs formating a on a hdd. both loaders work fine with hermes. it just depends on what your choice of hdd is going to be since gx only works with wbfs formated drives but wiiflow will work with all 3 formats (ntsf/fat32/wbfs).

also, its much easier to mange a hdd for other usage other then just wii games on fat32/ntfs on wiiflow because wbfs youll need the manager to transfer wii games to the hdd and only that will the hdd be used for. that is, unless u add another partition to the hdd.

Yes that is correct. Yes it is also possible to have both installed and use both loaders. No problems there.

since gx only works with wbfs formated drives
@ - Droopie -This is not true. I have explained to you that you CAN use GX, with Hermes cIOS222/223 or cIOSx Rev 19/20. Although I recommend using Cfg or WiiFlow.

A few reasons. I am new to backing up games, haven't set up a hard drive yet, and am not sure what interface I will like best. I also have read occasionally one program will have a compatability issue that the other is able to handle, so if I choose one interface I like but it has an issue, I could always switch over to the other.

I have three questions about that, then. 1) Is there an advantage or disadvantage to using rev 19 or 20? 2) Are these the links I want to use to download and install it?
    http://www.wiihacks.com/wiihacks-mem...re-almost.html
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...installer.html
    3) Is it as simple as just follow the tutorial for the Hermes cIOS and then the tutorial for the cIOSx consecutively?

I look forward to using FAT32... I've read about issues with GX and NTFS, but FAT32 would mean I could use the storage space for stuff other than Wii backups.

You would have to decide for yourself what the advantages and disadvantages of Rev 19 or 20 would be. Rev 17 is recommended. Personally I use Hermes for FAT Loading (with most games). I also do not like GX so I have no reason to use it. Cfg has the best compatibility and plays any game I need it to.

The Optional section links to the Tutorials you need to follow for either cIOS222/223 or cIOSx Rev 19 or 20.
