a mate of mine tells me that if you format an NTFS drive to FAT32 you will lose a considerable amount of your overall usable storage space. something to do with cluster sizes.
is this correct or does the formatting utility get round this.
I'm looking at getting a 1TB WD Elements drive and didn't want to lose a huge amount of space.

Can I use my backup DVDs to RIP to the HDD? Also, do I need to prep my HDD with a folder structure or does USB Loader gx create the folders that it needs for games, art, etc.
I also see that if I use the forwarder I will need to create an apps/usbloader_gx/ folder to put my boot.dol file in. Are there other files/folders that I need to put on there? What about VC games are those stored in the same folder as the other games? Maybe someone has a screen shot of what the structure of a FAT32 drive looks like?

This guide does not support GX. Use Wiiflow or Cfg....you can put the folders for covers on there....or just download the covers with your loader.
No need to worry about the folder structure for forwarder channels if you use the pack in this guide....just extract to your card...done.
VC and WiiWare games are purchased from the shop channel....nothing to do with your HDD (unless using nand emulation and that would be a question for a different thread)..
No screenshot....wouldn't help you as everyone's will be different. Just read and follow the guide and you will be fine.

I'm confused, what else is new So it's your contention I'd be better off with Hermes 222/223 than IOS250 right? Are these these the correct instructions in your guide?
"Configurable USB Loader v60
1. Install One of the Forwarder Channels With Wad Manager. Extract One of the RAR's
|1. CFG Loader Forwarder -DFCL |2. CFG Loader Forwarder Black Edition -DFCL |
- cIOS222/223 Users -- Download This -- Extract the RAR File directly to USB:/"
I just do that and then install the forwarder with Wad manager?

If I recall you followed mauifrogs guide, so your CFG loader should already work (as it is set to load with cIOS250 and you have the correct revision installed for that to work with FAT32 loading. So you can skip the installing a backup loader section.

yes, mine was on 249 and i couldn't get two new games to work, so I switched it to 250. If I'm supposed to see 222 or 223 on there, I don't, however.

You don't need to change the revision to load games with a different cIOS. Click the game and press 1, change the "IOS" setting to whatever you want. Press 2 to save.
