The IOS57 is just used as a base to install the cIOS...it doesn't use the IOS57 that is currently installed on your system. So yes that is fine, won't cause any problems. Reminds me to update the recommended cIOS setup, thanks.

A few questions and comments about this guide for Krank, Mauifrog et al.

First of all, thank you for it!

Secondly, I wish parts of of it were dumbed down just a little more? Unfortunately, I have no direct suggestions on that. However, I was kind of confused when reading it.

But third, are parts of this guide overlapping with Maui Frogs? At the end of his guide, he directs people to yours. And after talking to you I came and read yours. But I think I did a bunch of stuff I didn't need to do, because at the end of Mauifrog's guide I already had loaders and so forth installed, or so I think! It might be nice if you guys consolidate this.

Fourth: I'm using Mac OS X, which is only compatible with "Option 1". My understanding is a game over a certain size, on FAT32, must be split, right? You say that's easy if you use Wii Manager or something, which I believe is Windows only. I can use a Windows computer if that problem comes up, but what is the Mac solution, if any?

Fifth, I may need to move my Wii backups from an existing hard drive to a new external HDD, I can just paste the files from the old HDD onto the new one, right?

Not sure what you would like "dumbed down"....that's how the guide is written now . The only part that overlaps with Mauifrogs guide is installing a backup loader (which doesn't matter because you can have as many as you want and you can skip that part if you want).

For Mac there is a way to split the files using terminal but that is not covered in this guide, I suggest if you have access to Windows, use that instead as it will be easier.

You can copy and paste them if they stay in the same structure, yes. Or using one of the backup managers.

Well I do not have much luck in moving forward. I am trying to FAT 32 format my sandisk 2GB SD card using your file and it failed at 99% of the format. I have a message saying :
    parition info
    get last error()=1
    incorect funtion
any idea anyone??? Maybe that is why I couldn't softmode properly?

Why are you formatting a 2GB SD card with this guide? Just format it on your PC. Right click - format.
    Damn I suck!!!!

[QUOTE=user452;471103]Your screenshot hasn't been approved, so I cannot see it.
I've never used wii game manager before now, but it looks like you choose "open .wbfs files (list A)", then choose "open .iso files (list B)" and you're cooking.
If your external harddrive doesn't appear in the windows folder selection dialog, then it's not formatted as FAT32.
If any of this doesn't make sense, then you need to read the guide again.

AH I see...it wasn't FAT32. Okay starting from scratch again. I appreciate you helping me out on this oversight.

It doesn't work like that. Neither loader can open .iso files, .iso is just a standard disc image format.

Yes, you need to do as the guide says, and convert .iso to .wbps using one of the programs listed.

Read the "[Ripping/Copying to your USB Hard Drive]" section of the guide carefully.

I am officially PO'd. I tried copying a few movies from my laptop to the thumbdrive and play on the other laptop and PERFECTLY fine. Its A MIRACLE!!. So Im sure its not a problem with my USB. BUT!! I copy the game again and... Intro movie... Stuck. It cant be a problem with the game because I was having the same problem with my other laptop with the same copy of the game. But this is also the same copy which I burnt on a DVD and it works totally fine. And on this laptop I downloaded the game again
