My Samsung S1 Mini is not supported. Whatever, I will sell it tomorrow morning, I found a customer.
I have a 4 gbmini sd and I would like to use the USB attachment to connect it and to save one file with direct rip from Wii using USB loader. Question: The size will be compressed or like a full iso? Scrubbed or not?

It will be ripped to/as a Wbfs file so yes "scrubbed".

Thanks for the guide. Your words chase each other round my head at 3am as I struggle invain to understand the complexities of fomatting hard drives.

I've just bought a WD essential 500GB to use for wii games AND for all the .avi, .mp3 files filling up my lappy.
I followed [formatting - main option] for a new USB hard drive on laptop1. (I didn't load the WD SmartWare software, just Easeus.) Everything went to plan. Plugged the HD into laptop2, and, using WD SmartWare, it only shows 1GB available. Loaded up some music files, and yip, it stopped at 1GB - insufficiant space. Back to easeus on lappy1 and it shows:

Disk 2 Size Used Unused Status Type
    * Unallocated 464.70GB 0Bytes 464.70GB None Logical
    W:WII HDD FAT32 1.03GB 1.02GB 2.93MB Active Primary

Can't imagining wanting any more than 30 odd wii games on there. Could you someone please guide me on setting it up correctly? I twilight hacked my wii (3.2) years ago, and she's had very few updates since then, so it seems like I can skip all the 'loading with WBFS' stuff - and go FAT32 all the way. But that's a story for another day...

you didnt format right....look at Easus Formatting step 5(size & position) again and make sure it matches what it shows on the photo this time around

    thanks for your reply.
So, I get it back to unallocated 465.74GB

But when i drag the bar right, i get "Unallocate after space: 0.0" but "unallocate space before:" is 475848.5, and "partition size:" 1064.5
The first time i formatted it was the same - I got the 0.0, but the others were different. What am I doing wrong?!

Did you delete all partitions on the drive like the guide says? This should be "Unallocate after space: 0.0" and then "Partition size" will be the size of your full drive. Don't worry about the other option "space before".
    Damn I suck!!!!

yip, deleted partition once, says unallocated. option to delete not available now, so assumming all partitions deleted.

As i click on the left of the bar and drag it to the right, the partition size decreases down to 1064.5MB should be 475848MB something, no?

    thanks

I noticed this when I did it. Don't drag it to the right. Leave it where it is. it will say both are 0.0.

    I should have mentioned that.

Thanks, I should clear those instructions up. If you grab the wrong bar then yes it makes the partition smaller. Just make it look like it does in the picture, remember you are aiming for one partition so it will take up all of the space. The key is to have 0 space unnacloated and all of the space in your partition.
    Damn I suck!!!!

voila! merci beaucoup wiijohn!! I was thinking that, but be damned if i'm not going to do it like the guide says TO THE LETTER. I have no natural talent at this whatsoever and am a firm believer in following the guide that the good people here have spent the time creating.

"grab the wrong bar"? there is only one bar you can drag right

brilliant guide, but yea, maybe add that.
