hi, I'm fairly new to the wii modding, I actually just did it yesterday with Letterbomb. About the hard drive, do I have to use a HD especially for the wii, or can it have other stuff on it? In other words, do I have to buy another one or can I use the one I currently have, which is used for computer backups mostly (500 go and on the compatibility list).

As long as it is compatible you can use it. May turn into a bit of a pain moving it back and forth though.

Yes but make sure you backup the contents of the drive before formatting. If you don't plan on formatting it at all then you don't need to do that.

thanks both of you. I'm gonna buy a new drive next month or so, but I wanted to use the old one for a bit so I don't have to wait ;-) But I'll run of a space pretty soon, there's only about 40 gig free anyway. Thanks again!

Hi i fallowed the guide step by step, heres what i got, i got cfg to work, but when i start it, i have to wait for it to load (normal thing) then i have to press A once then it takes me to a page that say P1.P2.P3.P4 then i have to click A on P1 since thats the one that has the games, is there a way where i dont have to keep clicking A and just go straight into the games? also i used the guides on here to softmod my wii 4.1u i have seen some wii's that dont require any sd card in the wii sd slot, and they work great, does anyone have a guide on how to do that? Thanks for the Help

When formatted to FAT32 you don't need an SD card....just move your apps over to your USB drive....so this guide will show you how to do that.
Yeah next time you choose Partition 1 press 2 to save or the "save settings" button depending on which version of cfg you have.

No you need all of the folders if you intend to remove the SD completely. Meaning....copy all the folders/files from the root of your SD card to the root of your FAT32 partition/drive. So for Cfg to work you need SD:/apps/CFGLoader and SD:/usb-loader. If you don't understand what I mean let me know.

Ok so copy app with cfgloader inside app to the root of my hard drive right? and copy the usl-loader to the root as well? and yes i do want to remove the sd completely. i got it to work some what, by adding all the files to the root of the hard dive with a wbfs folder for the games, but when i wanna download the cover it starts but then just starts to give me a bunch of letter and number and then reboots, and take me to the main menu of the wii. Once again thanks
is there a way you could make a thread with all the files i need. in the root of my hard drive? and if i need to partition my hard drive how to do that as well. i tried doing two partitions on my hard drive one small one for the files and folder, and the other one for the games but same result.

The paths for the files on the hd are the same exact thing as on your sd. Also, you don't need 2 different partitions of fat32. As far as your covers, edit the config.txt file and make sure it is set to usb.
