Sneek+DI..Load Games from USB.. Without Cios

You will Need:

Bootmii...as boot2 or iOS...
SD card..Best results are with non-SDHC cards..formatted to FAT32
HDD/Flash Drive

Getting a NAND backup for SNEEK+DI or UNEEK+DI

Creating a NAND backup for SNEEK or UNEEK
Before you can use SNEEK/UNEEK you will need a NAND Backup.Two ways of getting it:

1.Use Bootmii and do a Nand Back Up ....then use Showmiiwads to extract the nand(shown below)

2.Use the FSDumper...rename the .dol to boot.dol put it in apps folder on your SD and launch via homebrew channel make sure you have 600 mb free on sd....(Takes 20min+)

Needed Application:
Showmiiwads 1.4.rar

1.Move the NAND back up from the SD(if you just made it) to your Computer..

2.Start ShowMiiWads Allow Internet Access...Go to Tools and select create COMMON-KEY it will tell you so type "45e"

3.Then Under Tools select Extract BootMii Dump.

4.Find where your bootmii dump is and select nand.bin

5.Let the program do its work . Once its done a new folder called nand-extracteda will be at the same directory as the nand.bin. Copy all Folders inside this folder to the SD card root or USB root for UNEEK..
They should be:

• import
• meta
• Shared1
• Shared2
• sys
• ticket
• title
• tmp

If you used the FSDumper you would get the same folders.

1. Download iOS [70v6678] for the SM 4.2 with NUSD, make sure you decrypt it and pack a .wad
2. Download System Menu 4.2 NUSD, decrypt it and pack a .wad
Also download these ios 9,12,15,17,21,22,28,33,34,35,36,37,38,53,55,56,(57,58)
3. Create a New folder on desktop (name it "New NAND")
4. Open ShowMiiWads
5. Click on Options -> Change NAND backup path. Select the folder you just created.
6. Click on View -> ShowMiiWads open the folder where SM.wad and your SM iOS.wad are.When they load up right click and select extract to Nand.In the folder you created you will have these folders

• shared1
• sys
• ticket
• title

9. Copy your setting.txt & iplsave.bin from an actual dump to the /title/00000001/00000002/data folder that was created in your new folder.
10.Copy your cert.sys & uid.sys from an actual dump to /sys/
11. Copy the four folders: title,ticket,sys,shared1 to the root of whatever device you are going to be using to host your NAND.
11. Launch SNEEK/UNEEK and it will be as if it is the first time you started your wii

FAQ:
WILL give you a black screen for couple of minutes before it goes to first time set up.
WILL give you a black screen for couple of minutes between the health screen and showing you the system menu.
This is for the first time only. After that it should load fast.

or you can use NUSAD(better all in one go)

Open up WiiJManager and choose the drive/folder where your games are located.
It will then identify the game/games
Then right click the game and choose "convert to SNEEK"
When done converting rename the folder to what you like and place it on your drive.

a Wii disc into the structure used by SNEEK's DI module.

GameCube Controller in port 1 or Wiimote
Wii Remote -> Press "1" -> select game -> press A -> press start ->Game will load now in DC
GC->Press Start -> Select Game -> Press A -> Press Start the game will load now in DC
You need to have font.bin located in the root of the SD card or USB(for UNEEK)
A GC controller needs to be plugged into the 1st port.
Once the system menu has loaded:
Press START on the GC controller to access the game selection menu.
Use the D-PAD to scroll through the games and press A to select the game.
Press start again to return to the system menu.
If everything is working, whatever game is currently in the disc channel will disappear:
You'll see the eject disc animation.
The disc channel will then appear empty.
Click on the disc channel,
It will then load up the banner for whatever game you chose.
|IMPORTANT|:
Gamecube controller has to be plugged before booting the Wii.
Connecting it once the system menu is showing doesn't work.

20-30min work? Installing sneek takes ~4 minutes with the auto installer.
It's very nice though I don't like the fact that the DI module freezes if there is no USB HDD with atleast 1 game present, it would be nice if it could continue to emuNAND anyway to play VC games.

I skipped all those steps.
I had already fs dump for brick recovery..
I had my USB HDD already in FAT32..
I didn't get any menu mod..
It did work on first go.

I can't get mine to work. I must of done something wrong. Maybe someone can help me?

Here is what I did:
My system menu is 3.4U, so I did a NAND back up of it, and extracted it using ShowMiiWads. I got all the 8 folders fine, so I went to download the System Menu NAND for 4.2U. I went and did the SNEEK+DI install and got the same three files, and I copied my ppcboot.elf from BootMii. I figured the bootmii.txt (setting file) is missing, so I pasted that one too. I am not sure how you got the font.bin file (don't know where it's located), so I figured I try without it. After that, I loaded up ShowMiiWads and did a NAND extract using the two System Menu NAND I downloaded earlier. Basically, that was all, and I put it into my Wii and it doesn't boot up. I didn't do the USB thing yet, but I have an empty USD stick plugged into my Wii, so I think that should be safe.

It's been well over 5 minutes, but still the black screen. I must of done something completely wrong... Has anyone face this issue, or is able to help?

Ok, I tried using SNEEK and it boots up fine, but when I try UNEEK, it doesn't boot up. Could it be that I can't boot up from the USB stick? Does it matter what slot I put the USB stick in?

If the SD card isn't present, the USB stick boots up fine, but I think I would need the SD card in to even do UNEEK or SNEEK+DI. I am able to access "apps" from USB stick using HBC if there are no SD cards plugged in. Any suggestions on this issue?

Press 1 in homebrew channel to open up a mini option screen, choose USB at top right and click it, then hit ok. it will load usb instead of sd, you have to do this everytime if you want usb over SD as it loads things on thhe sd first

Thank you for your guide it was very well written. Just wanted to tell you that Sneek+DI works perfectly using your guide, the control mod works great. You should also include the fact that some people might need "region.bin" to be in the sneek folder to be able to select which ever game they have because they might be able to access the sneek di menu with the wiimote but not be able to select the game without "region.bin". Other than that it works great and thanks for the work you put into helping others out it is greatly appreciated.

Also when using sneek is there a way to change the video settings so theres no black bars on the screen while viewing the wii in 16:9 widscreen because it's not only the usual black bars on the top or bottom in 16:9 on some lcd tv but also has black bars on the side a little bit. I just asked because when i'm not using sneek but just the regular nand it looks normal but when in sneek it has black bars on all four sides. It's not a big thing just some people might want to know about this aswell.
