OK so I've installed this loader and it seems really neat. I've downloaded a few themes and all my covers. I haven't started transferring my split wbfs partition/fat32 partition drive to a full fat32 partition yet though. I tried removing the SD card and copying the loader files etc to the fat32 partition on my hdd and whenever I run the forwarder I get "file not found, press button to restart wii". I take it that the forwarder is either not checking the fat32 partition for the files or is unable to load it.

I haven't installed cios222[38]v4 and cios 223[37+38]v4 yet so is that my problem? Thanks for your help.

Sorry I wanted to also ask - when CFG loader is loading it says in the bottom right 249 [FRAG] is that right?

    249 FRAG is right yes....normal.

As far as the forwarder not working some people seem to have that issue from USB...try a different one. The one included in the pack works just fine for me from USB or SD card...is that the one you are using?
    Damn I suck!!!!

Cile posted two new forwarders last week one of which resolved my issue.

Once you've transferred everything to your FAT32 it should work. I don't think CFG loader works will with WFBS formatted HDDs. I'm using CFG loader with a single partition, FAT32. And all apps and files loaded on that partition. My folders are:
    apps
    wfbs
    usb-loader
I also have boot.elf but not sure if I even need that on there, and no sd card installed. Priiloader pwd is set :-)

Yes it does. It works great with WBFS, FAT32, and NTFS.

I was using the one from the pack, the DFCL one works fine - first time without the SD card it booted me back to the wii system menu, now everytime I load it it works fine so it must have been initialising something. The one from the pack just says "error unable to open file" - I went into the wii system menu and deleted the channel; I take it that's how I should have removed it right? Thanks for all the help.

One more thing - if I change to a single fat 32 partition, with the games etc in wbfs format and the folders from my current fat32 settings partition in the root will I have to change anything else or will it all just work for me? Bar the installing of the 222/223 for fat32 reading which is pretty obvious from your guide, I just mean because I have it working in one way already rather than starting afresh?

Yes that's the way to remove the channel.

Yes it should work the same if you have your entire drive as FAT32.

I've put all the required files on my usb hdd (which is a WD Passport Essential), pluged it in and when i run cfg loader on my Wii it can't run the loader. I noticed that in the field where it says: FS and CFG BASE it looks like this on my Wii

    FS: [SD: ]
    CFG BASE: [SD:/usb-loader]

So i put all my files on an SD card and inserted into my console. Now all works fine. But I can't have the SD-card inserted into my wii all the time. How do i change so that the loader can find my USB HDD?

I've tried to see if anyone else have had the same issues like me but it looks like im unique with this, or i can't handle the search function.

Does anyone know the solution to this problem?

there are SD and USB forwarders around I know...that might be the reason.
    [ 4.0U ]-[ cIOS 38 r17 ]-[ Priiloader 0.3b (rev48)]-[ BootMii as boot2 ]-[ HBC 1.0.8 ]-[ WiiFlow 2.2 r414 ]-[ Triiforce MRC SS v10b ]-[ Savegame Manager GX r79 ] [UAE Wii/Snes9x GX/Wii64/SDL MAME Wii/DOSBox Wii/GxGeo ]

It is said an expert is someone who has made all the mistakes. I don't want to be a Wii expert then..thanks to everyone at WiiHacks

Looks like i have the same problem someone else had awhile ago. I must first turn on my Wii and then insert my portable usb drive. Then i can boot cfg from my usb hdd.

I can't seem to find any solution to this problem, as i would like to have my hdd plugged in all the time. Does anyone know if there is any solution to this problem?

    Some info on my setup:

Wii version 4.1E. Softmodded with 3.1-4.1 softmodd guide, which means I have the cios38 rev 17 if im not mistaken. Other than that i have followed this guide with the packages and i have hermes v4 installed.

Is your hdd on the hdd compatibility list?
