Should I have to select a partition?

Yes, select the partition with your games and it will save.

Is the disc inserted? I have only tried loading a retail game from Cfg...never a backup.
Worked fine for me.

I don't know what to tell you...can you give more info.
Meaning what actually happens? Can you get to the menu by press the minus button? Do you maybe have it disabled in your config file for Cfg?

Thanks, that's exactly what I did wrong. I left the hacks in my hdd and occassionally slipped in my sd card with different priiloader settings. I removed all hacks files from hdd and sd, so no more changed settings.
