I'm curious if the Syscheck failure is because you have a newer Wii that doesn't support an older version of IOS30.

Again this is just a test I can't do myself so it would be appreciated, if you'd rather not no worries.
    Installed IOS30 v2576 and applied Trucha patch. SysCheck 1.6.1 hangs. Uninstalled IOS30 v2576 and re-installed IOS30 v2816. SysCheck successful:

So, it is ok if I keep this IOS30 in my Wii?

It's fine, you can keep it. That version is just a stub so it doesn't have any actual data in it. Just don't ever try to downgrade the firmware to 3.2 or it'll brick.

Thank you for doing that btw, it's good to finally get an answer to that question.

I think i'll stick to 4.0 for a long time, and can't think of any reason for downgrading. With things working fine, I am just going to play lots of games!

Ithian, thank you once again for going through process and answering my many questions patiently.

I'll be hooping onto the USB loader bandwagon soon and was wondering if I should uninstall cIOSCORP before doing so?

    -Wii Menu 4.2U / DARKCORP v1.1 / BootMii as boot2 / Preloader v0.30-
    -USB HDD / Wiiflow 2.0 / Triiforce / VC Image-Pack / cIOS Wads-
    Support WiiHacks

It's not necessary but if you are leaving disc loading behind then there's not much point in having it restricting you installing any IOS in future. One false move and nothing works, you know what cIOSCORP is like.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

That is not required. Just have cios38-r17, or if you like r-19 and you should be good to go.

I recommend removing it. If you don't now , you will just have to later.

As tealc said you will need to remove it if you ever need to install an IOS for a new game to run.
    Damn I suck!!!!

This was discussed a while back but I just wanted to confirm that installing IOS30 v2816 does fix the problem of syscheck and dop-mii failing the scan at IOS31. (after cIOSCOP uninstall)

NOTE: IOS30 v2816 is a stub, DO NOT install it on system menu 3.x.

I got my friends wii back and reinstalled IOS30 v2816 over 1040 with dop-mii, syscheck and dop-mii report ran fine. (4.2)

    Thanks again Ithian.

EDIT: Just noticed I made the last post in this thread. Sorry for the double, unintentional.

You may wish to give a full and accurate account of what System Menu/region, what is/was installed, etc and post this information in a new thread here.
