Lol, I guess it lied since I bought it brand new out of the box. As soon as this crap gets done I'll post, but is there a way to cancel the system menu installation?

No let it complete if you already started it. Otherwise it bricks.

Right, It's taking while and giving me -116 errors when downloading files. Now it gave me stack/code dumps. So can I reboot the wii now? or what?

Edit: A hard reboot is the only option that's really left for me.

Nah get to the main menu in DOP-Mii and run the syscheck. Save it to SD then let it sit on the DOP-Mii main menu. Pop out the card then post the syscheck here. While you're doing that use the offline section of the original post to get the files that gave you 116 errors. For whatever reason your Wii can't connect to the server.

Turn your tv (not the wii) off after you pop out the SD card if it's an lcd/plasma whatever, so you don't get burn-in from the dop-mii screen.

You can exit to HBC (home) and re-enter the app to access it. Just don't try to exit to the system menu or leave HBC until we're sure you've got a working system menu.

Just in case, make sure it's not the batteries. Otherwise you need to pull out a GC controller or use another remote that will sync.

Oh no, it's not the batteries. They're brand new, I dont have a GC controller or even another wii-mote.

If I can get a wii-mote then what do I do? I doubt I can, so explain what I do if I cant find one and what I do if I can please. Thanks for all your time.

Afraid you'll need to pick one up. Always have a GC controller handy in case something like this happens, it's your lifeline. You can attempt to reboot the console into priiloader and hope the wiimote powers on, but if it doesn't you'll need to get a GC controller to get back to HBC.

The only other option besides that is if you have Bootmii/boot2 you can navigate using the keys on the console (but I'm assuming you don't or you'd have already restored, older consoles only).
