id rather stay the offical route as getting into custom builds is a pain with diff forwarders and doing updates and such....

and theyve been rumored to include this in the last several updates, im not complaining but it seems the vast majority wants cover art and its shown to be possible

i guess my ? is are they gonna ever do it ? and if not why ? i havent used this modded ones yet as holding out for orig but enough is enough gonna the modded ones tomorrow. is there a prob with it or its dangerous to do so? thats really the only reason i see not to have included this by now its been out for months already thru a few updates of the emus i think. i believe tantric creates these and thought i read a post of him complaining about the weird 3d look of the pics, and it is a bit weird, but frankly its still better than no pics at all... plus you can swap back and forth between text and pic mode so cant see why this isnt included yet w/o it being somehow dangerous to wii?

    anyone any thoughts?
an emulator will not install anything to your Wii, there is no danger to using a modified emulator, as for the majority wanting cover art, I could give or take that option.

Should I check in MMM on HBC to see if IOS202 is there? If its not there can I copy IOS202 apps file to FAT32 partition of USB HD and install from MMM?

Sorry I'm brand new to Wii modding, and don't want to hit a button I'm not suppose to and mess something up.
There are problems reported with this IOS202 installer 1.1, it will not brick your Wii, but it will cause apps to not run correctly that use IOS202. It looks like WiiMC uses this new IOS202, and is having problems too. I suggest installing Hermes IOS202, you can find that in my signature. As for the emulators, you can try one of them with the hermes IOS202, if it doesn't work then install the previous version of the emulator.

I will post links to the previous versions versions of the emulators on the first page.

If you want to revert back to the previous version of the emulators, here are the links

    SNES9x GX 4.2.0
    FCE Ultra GX 3.1.8
    Visual Boy Advance GX 2.1.7
    Hermes IOS202

I had the same problem with them not finding my USB..but what I did is put the install files for the Emulators on my USB drive instead of my SD card..then in HBC I go to my USB and run the Emus..for some reason if you boot the emus in the HD they then see the HD (*shrugs*) that's how I got mine to work, fceugx and snes9x

I run all my roms from SMB shares with these three emulators, it's nice to just leave the roms on my computer.

You didn't happen by chance to get the WiiSX to load games from USB HDD?

Hey guys, having trouble getting the snes and Nes emulators to work off my Hdd. Tried installing ios 202 1.1 and still no luck. The genesis one is working flawlessly and detects the roms on my USB hd. Tried snesgx 4.2 and 4.2.1. Any thoughts? Thanks.

What error or problem are you having? Is it not finding the USB or some other message? To get them working for me I put the emulators on my usb drive (same folder structure, apps/fceugx, etc) and then it works. For some reason when I tried running from my SD card with my ROMS on USB it would never find the USB.

Maybe that's your problem too? I havn't tried the Genesis emu yet.

When I try and run either FCE or SnesGX the progress bar gets to 100 and then the screen goes black and the Wii becomes unresponsive. I have them both installed on a FAT32 partition on the HD. Anythning else i shuold try? Like I said i've run other apps off the HD so I dont think that;s the problem, but who knows.

Ah so you can't even get into the program...I wouldn't think it's an HD issue since the Genesis Emu runs. Must be an IOS/cIOS issue. I've heard there are issues with the included 202 installer for those files, have you tried installing the 202, 222, 223 ios/cios that are here: http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...222-223-a.html

Alternatively have you tried running them off SD card just to see if something different happens?

I have not tried running off the SD, I will try when I get home tonight. I tried installing the old hermes 202 after I had installed using the 1.1 installer. But when I loaded it up and tried to install (using 38 version I think) it had an error. Do I need to uninstall the first 202 I installed? If so, how would I do that? Maybe i installed using the wrong install option? As you might guess am I quite new to all this despite reading a ton of info on here already!

You should just beable to install Hermes IOS202, it will over write the IOS202 you currently have installed.

It keeps saying "Exception (DSI) occurred!" and freezes there after.
