I want to put Snes9x on it's own channel.

Is it better to make my own WAD?

Wait until some one makes one for it?
    or
Use an older WAD, say for ver4.0.0?

I have never made a WAD before and I know it can brick a wii.

From the wiibrew, it says I need to copy the roms, cheats, covers, etc to the correct folders. I do not have any other folders.

    anything im doing wrong?

read the "readme.txt" that came in the ZIP. You have to make your own files in the SD directory

These 3 emulators have been updated just minutes ago, I have made changes in the first post to reflect the updates. If your Wii has a WiFi connection and your version of the emulators is rather current, then you can update your emulator just buy running the emulator with your Wii.

I'll take any help I can get
Folks the older versions that showed covers were CUSTOMIZED builds compiled by someone other then the official maintainer(s) and then spread out over BG/NT..
Stomp is posting the OFFICIAL versions, you will either have to make your own custom build or wait for someone else to modify the code.

How do I go about installing? the file is boot.dol,
Also can it load the ROMs from a dvd if I were to burn all of them to one disc?

Hey all, new here and to Wii modding.

I have just now installed FCEUGX and I have the same problem as a previous user, it keeps telling me USB device not found but I know my device works because I use it for my normal games.

Then I read to put the files on the HD directly instead of the SD card. So I did this, and it then works..using USB loader.

So I was happy, I created (well downloaded) a Forwarder for FCEUGX which looks on the SD card first then HD for the program then runs it. It works, runs it..however once it runs..its back to not seeing the HD (its as if its actually running it from the SD card not HD)

Any clues a) why when I run emu off SD card I cant get it to find USB HD and b) how to get forwarder to work properly and still show my USB drive?

    Thanks in advance.

    Us Can't find USB Drive!!!

Hey all! I've been wii modding for a while now and can't figure this one out. I think something is wrong with the newly updated Tantric emulators. None of them can recognize my USB Drive. I've tried 2 USB drives and I know they are working since my genplus emulator works as well as wiiflow and configurable usb loader. I just downgraded to the previous versions of these emulators and they are again working flawlessly.

Something is funny though. I have two Wii's right now. A new black Wii (4.2) and an older white wii (4.2) which I got the day the Wii was released. My old white wii can run the new emulator versions like normally and finds my HDD no problem. My black wii is the one I had to downgrade the emulator versions to get to work again. Hopefully this is useful info to someone. IOS 202 is installed on both Wii's as well which I got from this URL: Downloads - vba-wii - Project Hosting on Google Code

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop the pop-up asking to update these Tantric emulators? The only reason I ever upgrade is to stop this annoying message. I would like to update manually and not be asked everytime I start up the emulator. Any help would be great! Thanks much!

Snes 9x GX 4.2.1 is out now -- I fired up 4.2.0 via USB HDD moments ago, alerting me of an "update available". So I opted to have it update, only to have the emulator no longer be able to locate the USB HDD. I restarted the HBC and launched Snes 9x again, but the same thing happened. Luckily, I had 4.2 backed-up on the PC so all I did was replaced that back into my apps folder. Has anyone else experienced this? Like they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"!

I have updated the first post to reflect the updates to the emulators, also IOS202 has been updated to IOS202 installer 1.1, so grab that and install it before trying to use the emulators.

there has been no change log released at the source, wiibrew, or with the download. Perhaps the only change is the fact that you must use the new IOS202 ???

Try installing this IOS202 installer 1.1. They did this with WiiMC too, a new IOS202 has been released for these emulators and WiiMC. After installing the new emulators and the cIOS from IOS202 installer 1.1 and you have problems then revert back to what you had installed before.[B]

anybody know when they are gonna go ahead and put the cover art in original builds of this?

id rather stay the offical route as getting into custom builds is a pain with diff forwarders and doing updates and such....

and theyve been rumored to include this in the last several updates, im not complaining but it seems the vast majority wants cover art and its shown to be possible

i guess my ? is are they gonna ever do it ? and if not why ? i havent used this modded ones yet as holding out for orig but enough is enough gonna the modded ones tomorrow. is there a prob with it or its dangerous to do so? thats really the only reason i see not to have included this by now its been out for months already thru a few updates of the emus i think. i believe tantric creates these and thought i read a post of him complaining about the weird 3d look of the pics, and it is a bit weird, but frankly its still better than no pics at all... plus you can swap back and forth between text and pic mode so cant see why this isnt included yet w/o it being somehow dangerous to wii?

    anyone any thoughts?

I just softmodded this morning with up to date virgin4.3(r7) file. Do I still need to install IOS202? Is it include in that file? I didn't see it anywhere. Should I check in MMM on HBC to see if IOS202 is there? If its not there can I copy IOS202 apps file to FAT32 partition of USB HD and install from MMM?

Sorry I'm brand new to Wii modding, and don't want to hit a button I'm not suppose to and mess something up.
