    That, regarding the connect failure...

I found the same error when using the version of the installer that Cile provided (0.1b5). It was made over a year ago, and has essentially died of old age (it has become obsolete and is no longer supported). I suggest finding a newer version of the installer. Currently, I'm using version 0.6c, and I last used it few days ago - no connect error. I don't have the installer on the device right I'm using right now...but try Google. searching the following,

"SNEEK Installer 0.6c" (without the quotes)

I suggest using the Google source code page.

    Hope that helps.

    ---Edit---

I tried to upload the archive file and failed miserably. Let me know if you have any trouble finding it on your own.

I found the updated version and I think I built the directories properly. However; when I plugged the USB and SD card it nothing happend except for the light in the wii tray slowly blinking.

Not sure where to go from here. I might have to check for another HD somewhere that's not being used.

I'm having the same problem - as Krafter said earlier in this post over a year ago, "we're in the same boat, so grab an oar".

Have you at least gotten SNEEK working? If you can get that working, you'll at least know you're on the right track. I'd say worry about UNEEK after you get SNEEK working. I fiddled with SNEEK for minutes and got it to work. I fiddled with UNEEK for hours and couldn't get it working - after attempting to implement all suggestions for previous versions of the installer that I came accross. I'm thinking the UNEEK installer may be broken for this revision. I tried it on five different USB devices - one of them gave me the "No Signal" error instead of a black screen (details on previous page). I never got any of them to actually work though.

Some desperate ideas suggested earlier in this post for an earlier version of the installer...

Make sure you have ppcboot.elf and bootmii.ini in your bootmii folder, so your directories for the bootmii folder should look like this,
    SD:\bootmii\armboot.bin
    SD:\bootmii\bootmii.ini
    SD:\bootmii\ppcboot.elf

You also may need to generate a new bootmii.ini file - there's a program for that. Generating a new file didn't help me out, but if you're out of ideas it's worth a shot.

I was thinking about that as well "trying SNEEK first". I'll need to look at my file structure and try it hopefully later tonight.

    SNEEK Running - Nice!

Good to see you got that running - I saw your post. I'm a little busy at the moment, and I hope to get back to you later today. I do have more to say about SNEEK.

    ---Edit---

Okay, there are a few ways to work around the front SD slot. You can still use USB devices. If you're feeling sassy, you can get an SD to USB adapter and use your SD card that contains your Homebrew in the USB slot. Additionally, if you have an SD Gecko, you can launch Homebrew using the Gamecube memory card slots.

You can get both the USB and Gecko adapters by getting the SD Media Launcher from Datel. From personal experience, I can say this thing is well worth the 20 dollars. If you plan on running any Gamecube Homebrew, this is makes the process so much easier.

Note that the Gecko slots will not support multimedia cards above 2GB; SDHC Cards. Standard SD cards come no larger than 2GB.

    Hope that helps.

Oh, I almost forgot! You can also open one of the executable files used to run SNEEK, and change it so that the Wii does detect the SD card while running a virtual NAND off of it. This feature is said to be buggy though, and may corrupt all data present on the card. I'd give it a shot anyway; just back up all data on the card first. I haven't tried it as the string they instruct you to change wasn't present in version I believe we both have. You can always mess around with it and see if it's still doable in this version.

Speaking again from personal experience, I have heard programmers scream corruption in a device when with other programs such as PSP emulators, and I haven't had any such problem. I'd still recommend caution - but I'm saying it's worth a shot. Worst comes to worst, you re-format your device, and load the data back on to it.

Yeah got it working but it was rather slow; which I kind of understand. Now after looking at some other guides on setting up Uneek, I'm running into obstacles like all my games are in wfbs format, and to get those in fat32 format which Uneek reads could be problematic.

Yeah, I was quite frustrated myself being unable to get UNEEK working. Did you actually manage to get not SNEEK, but UNEEK working?

I don't think it's worth using UNEEK as a backup loader at this point. You could, but there are programs that can handle it so much more conveniently. I think SNEEK and UNEEK really work best with channels and legitimate copies of Wii games at this point. I personally haven't tried using it as a backup loader, but I think your efforts would be better used using a USB loader on your real NAND, or at least until SNEEK and UNEEK get farther in development. This is just my personal opinion - if you want the backup loader functionality in SNEEK and UNEEK to work, go for it!

I don't know if you found out yet...the Homebrew Channel version 1.0.8 doesn't work on SNEEK/ UNEEK at this point. However, all previous versions of the channel (1.0.7 and below) should work. I'd blame it on the messed up title ID of 1.0.8..

    ---Edit---

Note that you don't need a backup copy of a game to make UNEEK run (at least without the DI module).

If you do want to convert games into fat32 format from WBFS, a WBFS manager should be able to do this process for you in minutes.

Used ModMii, SNEEK works for me off SD, though UNEEK or UNEEK-DI off two different FAT32 drives will not behave, but Mighty Channels sees the stuff off uneek ok.

Has anyone got UNEEK to work!!

So what exactly is the bad behaviour?
